Bugger worth a try, should be ok with a skim. Are you still able to reuse the head gasket?

Back in the scene
Absolutely gutting about the gasket not curing it
At least with it sorted out after this it will be something that won't fail again so some peace of mind that way.
head off. pretty sure nothing is wrong the head.
seems the bore is cracked. lovely. thats the car out of action for a while. need to get hold of a block now.

Speaking to you last night sounds like it'll be reet, just a pain in the arse, was looking forward to some drag racing!
it was bout 5 years ago it was bored etc. guess it just had enough and gave up? seems as if its common with people trying to run a lot of power as i think specky cracked a liner a month or so ago also? not saying im anywhere near the power of that mental tigra, but still a good 2.5x what it was from factory.
never did see any pics of chips so called cracked block. wonder what caused it? it was never really discussed much?

yep only thing i can do really. as long as the pistons are fine, shouldnt take too long to get it running again. if its done pistons in, as im concerned by that mark in the bore, then i may have to rethink the whole expense and throw the towel in tbh.

I seen Chips when I was at his helping removing it from the nova, his had bulged out and you could feel it when you ran your finger over it, seems the water jackets are the blocks week point, and when running 2 bar plus it's a lottery how long they last, fingers crossed it not done your pistons in

next to the mark can hopefully see a wavey line. its quite difficult to take a picture as ive only got a phone not got a proper camera. the mark itself doesnt seem to be anything to worry about as such. you cant exactly feel it with your hand anyway. see what pistons are like when i get the engine crane off jim if work let me borrow a van for an evening.
tidied up some shelves to put parts on. layered it with bits of the guardian and independent news papers, im well educated for a northerner.
collection of parts ready to have a good bit clean up
whats left in the bay ready to come out hopefully this week. will then re route and tidy up all the wiring i can, remove the battery tray etc etc and lash it with some smoke grey just to tidy it up a bit. also really need to get some arch liners as its had none for years and the salt and muck off the roads gets everywhere.
just hope the bottom end components are ok pmsl

Major ball ache that its the block, but at least its a difinitive fault you can see rather than spending god knows how long trying to find something.
Hope you manage to get it sorted soon and if gives you a chance to tidy the bay a bit as well then at least is a little good.
Bugger.
