Hello, I am from norway, and have a 1976 Kadett c project.
I think that you guys in england maby were interested to watch what happen in norway =)
I wil try to write in english as good as I can, but I am not so very good I`il try my best.

This was the first time the car was finished in 2008.
The engine was orginal, uncept Electromotive ecu, and a MHI 16T turbo
It was 265Whp at that time

Some specs about the new engine:

    Engine
    Xev block , 87mm bor
H-rods, weight-adjusted in the large end, and the total - with ARP 2000 bolts
    Wiesco pistons 8,5:1, weight-adjusted
    C20let crankshaft, polished and balanced
    Blybronse advise and carry stock
GM Head, with new valves ++
    Turbonetics T3_T4 Turbo
    CPS Manifold
ARP main studs, head studs, flywheel bolts and inletstuds
    Cometic 0.045 " Head gasket
    Precision Turbo1008cc
    Electromotive Tec-GT fuel injection

    Griffin alu radiator
    SBD strap wheels in aluminum
    SPAL 16 "Cooling fan
    Earl's oil cooler
Earl `s fuel hoses and oil hoses in AN-8 and AN-6
Earl `s Red-anodized aluminum fuel line
Earl's fittings on all oil and gas lines
Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump, fuel rail and pressure regulator
    Aeromotive 11203 Low pressure pump
Swirl-pot tank and battery in the trunk
    Dbilas adjustable vernerpullyes
Stainless exhaust with Magna Flow exhaust pots

    Drive system:
Getrag 265 transmission with Manta 1800 clutch-house and adapter plate
CNC machined flywheel made to the S4 plate
    Sinter and Audi S4 pressureplate
3.5 " shaft from "Kardangservice" in norway
Adjustable short Spax shock absorber, and 60mm Apex lowering kit
SellHolm power rack and pinion with 2.2 laps at the steeringwheel
1600 front trevers with powerflex nylon bushings
Dana 30 rear axle with locker , Suspended in 3link.
Goodrich brake lines front and rear
D2 6 pistons calipere with 304mm AP racing in front
Volvo 240 Turbo brakes in the back

    Interior:
    Sparco Corsa seats
    LMS 4 point harnesses
    Instruments from GTE
MLK tuning instrument washers 260km / h and
Auto Meter Ultra-Lite (oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, turbo boost, AFR and 5 "Tachometer with shift light)
    Sabelt steering wheel with leather
doorpanel, side plates behind in carbon
Rollcage painted the same color as the car

    Rims:
Compomotive MO 8x15 "with 195/45/R15 tires

Some earlier pictures of parts and the car the first time it was finished.
1008cc nozzles and som ARP bolts

    Manifold form sweeden

    Powerseteering

    304mm breake discs

Allmost finishd, and ready to maping

    402hp and 553Nm on wheels

And now the car will be picked in pieces again, to be painted in a different color, and be built together with attention to "finnish" and exhibition. But the car's supposed to be used =)

I have made new 3" downpipe

AN-4 on the turbo oil line

Break sylinder and hydraulic break servo from BMW 745

I also goint to use oil pump from Z20LET
As you can see there's much difference between the oil pickup in c20let and Z20let oil pump.
The flange on the pump, and the pipe are much more powerful on the Z20let pump.

You can also see the inside of the pump is different

    Old C20Let

    New Z20let

I am very curious to see how the new oil pump works, there are few that I know of that have tried this before

    Re: Kadett C 16v Turbo

    very nice.

z20let is quite a common mod over here, the internals are machined from solid steel rather than sintered I think. Flow wise, it can supposedly flow more BUT:

Pressure is a caused by flow
Pressure is controlled by pressure relief valve
You can't have more flow without more pressure, so the pressure relief valve opening point is more important than what the pump can flow. A C20LET pump can flow more than enough to maintain pressure at all engine speeds so there is no point trying to flow more.

    Benefits though:

I'd guess that it is a bit more efficient so less drag
    it's safe for higher revs

    Ahaa
Have previously had problems with the original C20let pumps.
Begun to create bad press the hot engine, and takes a long time before the oil lamp goes out when the engine is cold. Scary to start to wait for almost 5 seconds before the lamp goes off. So here in Norway we have a lot problems with the original pumps. But most people here buying intensified parts from SBD, but that eather not hold forever

    Re: Kadett C 16v Turbo

Yeah the SBD part is a copy of the sintered gears that is machined. Sintering is cheap and light but not particularly good. Not only does it wear more quickly, but it is very brittle and doesn't take that much to smash to pieces.

This is the SBD gears. The engine was running about 10 hours before this happened!

It is true that you can find Getrag 265 cases in some bmw`s. For example, bmw 765, 635ci, etc.
But these are not identical to those used by GM, (Opel monza/Senator 3.0i)
The flange from the gearbox is not equal. On the bmw is a tightened rubber "hardy" link to the shaft, and on the opel case are the only regular splines that are slipped into cash like the getrag 240.
To get manta 1.8 house to fit, I have made an adapter plate that sits between the house and the gearbox in 20mm aluminum

Questions is just fun =) I am happy to answear

No, the input shaft is not to short
I use the orginal gears with no problems.
It's probably have something to do with the weight of the car.
I have no grip on the backwheels on the asphalt before the 5. gear (that`s with regular street tire, with slicks it helps alot )

Thats one wicked project. How does the back axle handle the power with it being mounted like that? Ive got a chevette estate im planning on putting a saab turbo lump in and my piazza axle is alot like yours.Might have a go mounting it the same as you if it works well.

Well, it's far from optimally mounted, but it works fine, and I use the original mounting points on the floor, and saves a lot of work that way.
So I use it as long as it lasts

When it breaks, it will be 4-link
