Looking very good in the pictures mate, cant believe how clean your engine bay is and how good the paintwork is in the bay. If i could get mine anywhere near that id be happy. As for the engine they are always going to be underated due to the c20xe being the ''main'' one. Glad to see you guys doing something different and choosing something different. Respect.

cheers for the nice comment liam , it does look good in the engine bay but there are a few little bits i want repainting to make it look even better, just touching up a few little bits that need doing

and as for it being different i agree, i didnt want to follow the crowd and do what everyone else had done over and over, thats why i chose to xev just got to find somewhere to put the damm ecu as it wont fit under the panel where it used to go lmao bit stuck for ideas

Correct mate be different. Umm what about hidden behind the dash board itself. Whip it off and have a look, theres quite a lot of room behind there mate.

yh i looked at that but doesnt seem to want to go under there, but will have another look tomorrow, only other place i thought of putting it was under the drivers seat but that means extending the wiring a bit to make it reach

How much bigger is the ECU then mate. What about getting hold of a x20xev ecu holder from a vectra and then fitting that to the corsa to make it fit

its a fair bit bigger, its bigger than a c20xe ecu aswell, and i cant use the holder off a vectra as the ecu on one of those is under the bonnet under the scuttle panel, held in with two 10mm nuts on a metal cradle, so not any use to me

Mock it up and cut the plastic trim so the ecu sits nice inside. That will actually look nice with no wires etc

Re: Corsa B X20XEV - My First Project

not much of an update but its something

i managed to get the ecu mounted somewhere finally got it stuffed up the back of the bashboard near where the wiring loom comes into the car, a very tight fit but its not going nowhere in a hurry lmao then put the cover back on with the relays behind it, all hidden away nicely

also got my exhaust sorted, got it all back where it wants to be and tightened it all up and checked for any leaks, only a few really tiny leaks which will get sorted, just got to get the rear box mounted up properly, job for tomorrow i think

    more tomorrow hopefully

    cheers

Re: Corsa B X20XEV - My First Project

ow yh almost forgot there is an update on the dash aswell, my dads been busy again filling in the holes, he used a bit of filler for the small holes and the big hole on the top was sorted with a piece of plastic which was plastic welded in place then a skim of filler over the top

its no where near finished yet but is getting there slowely, few more skims of filler here and there to make it perfect but im starting to see the finished product now must admit its starting to look good

    cheers again lmao

Aii the calibra and cavs use same mounting places as the corsa's etc but with the vectra they are in the engine bay under the scuttle panel area aint they. But glad you sorted it anyways. So whats the next job now mate ??

the gearbox is f16 and i think the linkage wants about 15mm welding in it,the mounting all bolted on and looks straight enough but its hard to tell when you are upside down on your backlmao
