Re: Corsa B X20XEV - My First Project

i am just trying to fit the dash so as it looks original and not a bodge job like all the others i have seen, the rest of the build has been done to a high standard so why cut corners now??, but at the end of the day its my PROJECT and when finished will be an achievement as it was a bog standard car when i started.

it might not be to your taste but there is more satifaction getting stuck in and doing something like this than being sponsored by autoglym

Re: Corsa B X20XEV - My First Project

    bit of an update

finally got my dash in an working after a bit of head scratching trying to work out why some things were not working as they should do

couldnt get the indicators to work properly, then when i did the hazards were flasing the main beam light instead of the indicator lights fixed quite a few faults along the way lmao

but its 90% the way there, just got to test the speedo and thats about it

took a few pictures when i got it working, was well chuffed when i sorted it lmao

some of them are from when it was dark as i was doing it for most of the day

my dad sorted the milage counter out for me

also ive sourced some corsa gsi shafts off a fellow migweb member, just need to get some mk2 cav inner cv's now

    thats about it for now

    cheers

Re: Corsa B X20XEV - My First Project

well thought it was time to update with what ive been past few days

    Sundays Work

started work on the facelift bumpers

sanded down the rear bumper and filled in bad patches with filler, then smoothed with 800 grit wet & dry

here it is after a coat of primer

then wet & dryed again lmao

its now ready for top coat

then set too the front bumper

managed to get it sanded down and wet & dryed ready for primer

    Todays Work

did a few quick photshops of the front bumper as i cant make my mind up how i want it lmao

colour coded with black grill and splitter??

or black on the top with black grill and splitter?? (kind of standard look)

the black parts would be done in satin black not gloss

    opinions would be nice

either way the arches will get sprayed to match the tops of the bumpers

    cheers

I would choose colour coded all day long mate. Will look lovely, just leave the splitter black like in the photoshop you done. Keep up the good work mate

aw you painted over the rubber you plonker!! lmao

seriously though take off the rubber strip and redo the bumper or it'll flake straight away, then just use back to black on a normal rubber piece and fit it after the bumper is painted.
