    The Corsa Project. (**Long Term**)

In 2008 I managed to get hold of a 1.2 8v merit corsa off a family member. the plan was to re-build the engine as it had been ran in to the ground by the previous owner and run it as my first car for a while until i had the money to buy a nicer car but after passing my test and really starting to fall in love with my little merit i have decided to tidy the car up and get it looking smart before i am able to afford maybe an engine corversion.

When i first got it it was completely standard and just used as a car to go pick the kids up from school in and go to the shops. I decided to fit some nova GSI alloys to it that my brother had bought for his car but was selling them as he was looking for a new car. Once i had passed i decided it was time to get new bumpers and a little gsi spoiler to tidy it up which is all now pretty much ready for a local paint shop to paint for me.

So pictures of the story so far:

How it stood once the engine was re-built and the alloys just fitted

After some bumper care and an exhaust tip to tidy it up.

I then fitted the clock display as it didn't come with one and also a cigarette lighter for my sat nav. Also replaced all of the bulbs on the heater control panel so they light up.

Then fitted some Angel eye head lights placed a MIG sticker on the front and rear screen (MIG thing on number plate is PS) and now i am getting some bumpers wheel arches GSI spoiler painted to colour code the car and generally tidy it up a bit.

There will be more updates soon when it has all the bumpers on.

Re: The Corsa Project. (**Long Term**)

rebuilt the 1.2 with my step dad as the head gasket had pretty much gone. and it had been run with low water and oil alot

Basically the plans are to clean it up make it look really presentable and lower it probably -60 also thinking about getting 16" softstars. thats about it until my insurance goes down then it might get an engine conversion but thats a big maybe and a GSI kit if one comes up cheap.

    *****UPDATE*****

Not much of an update to be honest but took my bumpers to the bodyshop today and handed them over to be painted. He said it should take a couple of days then i'll get them back. Speedo clocks have been sent and are in the post as we speak and thats about it at the moment.

Just a few pictures of the car yesterday.

Re: The Corsa Project. (**Long Term**)

get the bumpers painted the same colour as the car same bumpers as the ones i put in your thread and have the GSI spoiler painted which is happening this week and then lower it and get new number plates as the ones on it are cracked then run it for a bit and then maybe convert it to a bigger engine just generally cleaning it up not really looking at doing something wild and whacky ... yet lol!

I quite like those angel eyes. They suit the car quite well. This should turn out to be a nice car I reckon. Crackin'!

Good to see the progress mate. I cant wait to see the pictures of it all coded like. And the gsi spiler will set it off i reckon.

I was going to go down the gsi replica route, but tbh id rather keep the original bumpers like. I have got a gsi spiler mind but in my own opinion that is a must have for a corsa.
