corsa b, first long term project

hi, been on here a while now and i think its about time i started my corsa project thread. Ill give u a bit of backgound on it.

About a year and a half ago i got mself a corsa b sxi 1.2 16v. The car came lowerd about 25mm, sportex sytle exhaust and black lexus style lights. Within a week it had a massive k&n style filter(most pointless thing ever!) it stayed like this for a while then i removed the centre silencer....had to have some decent exhaust note! . . and just got the tits ragged off it. But after proving my 1.2 could keep up with the 1.4 sports once too many....i got caught by a undercover police car and as i already had 3 points i then got my license revoked as i had 6 points within 2 years. if i had behaved for one more week i would have been fine.

So with me off the road and saving money i got 60mm lowering springs for the corsa, a courtney panel filter. I then sold the car too my mate who said he would look after it. In his ownership he broke most things on it. It got key'd all over...although they knew who done it so the car got a full respray.

Fast forward 6 months and i had been passed my test for a few months and missed my corsa. so done the decent thing and swpped the car i had at the time, my lupo1.4 for it. Straight swap. I got the corsa with snapped hand brake cables and 4 bald tyres. within 24 hours this was repaired and i was back on the road

the car as i sold it :

The cam cover polished up, before i sold it

as i got it back, but i added the uprated the standard size front brakes with grooved discs and green stuff pads

hopefully the pics have worked and ill add more photos tomorow when i find them, as lots have changed

    as promised, more fotos.

After a while i decided i wanted a gsi front bumper. so purchased a second hand one in caribic blue. Went to fit it one night discover the bodyshop had siliconed the front arches and bumper to gether, after some rugging at the bumper it was off and the gsi one fitted.

within a week the bumper had been given a quick paint with aerosol cans ..

thats how it stayed. I then purchased a mk4 astra and the corsalay in the drive gettin started and mover about as i was trying to ge it through an m.o.t. Was quite suprised when all it needed was a brake pipe at the rear, side light bulb, track rod and and a tyre. But it wouldnt pass its emissions.Fitted a new cat got the engine managment light reset but it appeard to come on again. After gettin a Diagnostic computer on it, it said there was a broken wire between the AFM and the rest of the wiring harness. later turned out to be the connector on the wrong way round at the air flow meter ! Light out and stayed out .

After this it was m.o.t'd. All was great as i thought about my next plan for it. . . Until heavy rain struck and the carpet was soaked! Will have pics and sory up tomorrow but right now im about to k.o.

Got ma 2.0l brakes for it and a new exhaust. Still wondering what engien to put in as i dont want a red top i wanna stick with the smaller engines...possibly 8 valves

no i dont want to go down the 1.8 , 2.0 litre route. I think it messes up the handling too much cause i love the back roads up my way i really like 1.4, 1.6 8 valves cause theyre more substantial to a beating than the x14xe/16xe engines. Im not after loads of power or that just some decent poke for the back roads with a closer ratio box if needed.

1.8 16v from the corsa and some mk4 astra's is small block, so no heavier than a 1.4 16v. If doing this conversion it would be my first choice (same work/method as fitting a 1.4/1.6 xe but more power to start with)

    Either that or a turbo'd c16se, good for 150bhp

Close ratio box is a must (either an F13CR from a nova sri/gsi or a F15CR from a corsa gsi)

oh i get you know then .

ive been offerd a nova sri engine and im considering that. It comes complete with box ecu and loom .

hopefully have the car back looking like a car though as ive been busy rubbing down and painting a few bittys. Got my gsi bumper re painted properly but i might source a tidier bumper as my one is not the greatest .

Have all teh updates and pics at the weekend hopefully

you know the Nova SRi loom is integrated into the main car wiring loom?! You may run into some difficulties there. Personally i would suggest a 1.4 bottom end with a 1.3 SR head on bike carbs then use a Nova SR F10/5CR gearbox

C14se came in the mk3 astra, and its loom is seperate Fitted one to my sisters old corsa b. (astra version has single small downpipe, so isnt as powerfull as the nova/early corsa sri version)
