    cheers for the comments guys!

Black bay is just easyer to keep clean from oil and grease etc and helps the shiney bits stand out more :-)

I did the stripped out thing before but no doubt once I'm getting low 12's I'll be ditching the heated seats etc to get into 11's for sure

Mig and VS are a two way street, but VS is such a small site by comparison that its less obvious that way around, so its a street thats a motorway one way and a cyclepath the other lmao

I joined Vauxsport first cause it's what I wanted from a site, I like my car to look tidy on the outside but it's all about the power for me! And I find them all very sound and have met some good mates on there as well. I find mig good for other things but always post my probs on VS!
Still can't get my head around how busy this site is

    airfilter to turbo all 3"

2" from turbo going into 3" just before intercooler then 3" all the way to inlet

they certainly flow a lot more air than the standard top hat! As you can see by the size difference in the photo! But you will have to trim the bonnent to get it to fit!

Cheers for the replys guys a lot more to come in the next few months

that does look good, and good job with all the work and respect to you for tackling the problems head on. It's easy to lose motivation when it seems it's 1 step forward 2 steps back!
That manifold looks beefy as hell though, how's it cracking and where abouts?? How are your afr's and egt's?

Thanks! it can be a pain in the arse when things go wrong but is worth while when your on full boost smoking past cars you shouldn't be!

I've not fitted the inlet manifold yet that's the next thing to be done!

The exhaust manifold is only 1.6mm thick and has a 38mm tube bore, and with the heat and pressure just blows the welds around the top of the collector and the bottom ofthe external wastegate pipe!

Air/fuel ratio is around 14.6 idle and 11.5 on full boost after dipping into the 10's briefly
will be able to run better on boost A/F now I've got better internal etc as I was playing safe before

running 20psi boost for the above with idle fuel pressure of 2bar rising to just under 3 iirc

Aaah i see, the thickness definately won't be helping, but once the weakest parts are strengthened enough it should stay together hopefully .
The afr's seem perfect and it's not wrapped up so the cracking may be more down to mechanical stresses and less temperature related I'd suggest maybe a brace from turbo to bottom of engine block, as there's a hell of a lot of weight sitting on the flange and the vibrations from the engine can be immense like when changing gear etc.

Maybe have a look at raising your fuel pressure aswell a bit if you can (and reduce the injector pulse width though I cant remember if you're on chips or management), I noticed my engine ran a lot smoother everywhere and upto 20psi when I upped it by 1 bar, better idle and mpg. Though you obviously know exactly what you're doing so I'm sure there's a reason why it's quite low at 2 bar

I'm scrapping that manifold as I've bought all the bits to make a nortech style one, pipes are 44mm and nearly 3mm thick tube and yes I've already planned to brace the next one as like you say there's a lot of weight etc on it!

The I'm on EDS 3.5 at the mo and can't alter things as I'd like so couldn't get the A/F ratios right
without running the 2 bar idle but after Market management is on the cards for the next evolution

but cheers for the advice though mate

I'd say 350 ish yeah 20psi is no sweat for the T3/T4 I've ran 28-30psi for a few runs when the Amal valve gave up on me will be looking at running 26-28 psi when new engine is in! But this is info on my car only so don't come crying to me if yours don't

and yes sorry 3" pipes aren't that hard to fit just a case of triming metal from the front panel to allow space
