Right update time has been a while as i've been busy with work and my spare time has been taken up with doing manifolds, but i have not given up on my car, in fact i've just spunked a fair whack on it this month as Rob Twitchall decided to break his i thought it would be rude not to have some bits off him, so after half a day stripping his car for him this is what i've bought
Various bits
fuel system upgrades
750cc injectors and turbo feeds
And last but not least a Garratt GT3076R

and then sand blasting it
all back together and looking like new
on it at the minute is a .63 hotside but am waiting for Rob to find the .82 hotside in his **** tip garage so i can fit that, after i've blasted it of course :help:
Treated myself to a set of these not bad for £140 new delivered, just had to change one of the bolts in them as i wasn't happy how much it could move in the bush so fitted a 9/16 bolt iirc and is now a snug fit so won't cause me issues further down the line![]()

Yeah have heard that, mainly the gearbox side needs a bit of metal cutting out to get the bolt in and do it up

Just read the whole thread congrats on the awesome work I am very jealous of your skills and envious at your access to equipment. I am in the forces too and some of the stuff in the background looks very familiar, all bases look the same.
Any gen on how you modded your tie bars?
A few pages back there are some pics of the corsa tie bar with 15mm removed from the shoulder so you can run more camber. I want to do that on mine but you cant just put it in a lathe so how did you do such a tidy job?

No you dont. Just put the nut on the engine mount side and you can still slide a 19mm iirc spanner up the gap between the chassis leg and the mount to do it up tight. Just seems to be that some people just dont think these things through properly and just chop a load of metal out for no real reason!

Cheers mateYeah lucky to have such good facilities and be able to work on stuff in work time, wish my new metalsmith bay was finished as it's away from the other workshops so will get my car in shut the doors and work on that all day lmao
On the tie bars i just measured 13mm and then masking taped it up and used a bench mounted grinding wheel to get it down, constantly rotating it, it tends to take up a few mm's extra as it puts a slight radius on it so once tidied up with a file it's down to 15mm![]()
