    Looking good mate.

The pic I sent you the other night didn't really show how the Corsa was done but this one may help

If your running wide seats you will need to move the wheel over to centre everything, even with the seat bars mounted like that the steering wheel still sat on the left and even now its not perfect, that said their not perfect from the factory either !

The column was shifted over nearly 2 inches and extended before the knuckle that joins onto the rack, it was also dropped a few inches which gives a much nicer feel if your running the seat low.

Nice seats those, I have one in the Pug but sadly can't get a wide version in the passenger compartment or I'd have 2 !

Yeah that's a better pic mate and yeah you have removed the part I was on about, but I'm also gonna remove the front part that you've cut down, I haven't extended my colloum like you though, and my seats aren't the wides so hopefully that will buy me an inch or so

With normal width seats you shouldn't have such a problem. It was quite bad how far out the steering wheel was out with the seat tight up against the tunnel, not really sure how anyone could put up with that !

Yeah from first looks it doesn't seem to be too far off but I have seen cars where the steering wheel is way out and could imagine it would feel horrible to drive

Tonight's efforts were to get the standard seat mounts out to allow me extra space to sit the seats perfect, after what felt like a lifetime drilling out spot welds it now looks like this

Also drilled out the rear seat mounts as well

Plus side I've shifted 10kg of weight but down side I slipped with the drill and punctured one of my 888's  Will get that repaired next week

Yeah pain in the arse tbh needed to be done though, wanted to remove them to get the seats in better and the weight saving was a bonus, hoping to get the car down to around the 850-860kg mark if I can, and with the planned 450bhp it should be fairly nippy

    Re: dewismotorsport's C20LET Corsa gsi

Got the white spirts out and removed remaining tar and gave it a good clean out before having the rubbish job of having to weld up all the drilled out spot weld holes, seemed to take forever

Then decided while I had the welder out to seam weld inside

I then cut out a load of discs and removed the rubber bungs in the floor and welded them up as well and ground all welds back to floor level

Almost done with the floor now just need to cut out a few small patches of rust around the rear seat floor mount, must be a water trap so while I'm at it I'll fully cut that out and patch it up

Bought myself a epas colloum and another rack came as a package so will keep rack as a spare as my original one is better but I will swap the steering rods over as they are practically new

I don't have any power steering at the mo, love the feel of it on the move but it's a ballache trying to park etc as the steering is so heavy with sticky tyres

There is more weight to be removed if I took dash and blower box etc out but don't want to as I'd like to still have some luxurys tbh, my friend got his down to 860kg without gutting the doors so I'd like to think I could get 850kg's but won't be too upset if I don't, I have a few more bits to remove like the sunroof and spare wheel well, I'm hopefully getting GRP doors and maybe a roof skin as well

Thought I best have a post, can't believe the amount of skill in making your own inlets and fabrication, I know where I will be coming for tig welding. Do you have a project thread for the corsa that's getting the xe?

    Re: dewismotorsport's C20LET Corsa gsi

Well been away for the last two months with work so thought I'd best get my arse in gear and get something done so I whipped the dash out ready to be sent off for flocking, going to remove the rest of the sound deadening and tidy up the wires while I'm at it

And removed my coilovers front and rear so that AVO can re furb them

Lowered her back down to see what she looked like with no suspension msl:

Wish I'd had more time before I left to get this lot all sent off as it would of been done by now but that's life I suppose

Got a list now off stuff to buy so going to be buying it all over the next few days

    Re: dewismotorsport's C20LET Corsa gsi

Track day season is coming round stupidly fast and with me being away from the car now for nearly 3 months I need to get a bloody move on so have made a list of parts I need to finish the car to where I will be happy with for now

First on the list was a EPAS controller so once I get the colloum and rack in I can set it up to how I want

A reducer pipe for when I fit the V6 throttle bodie

Three new silencers with the back box now a lot larger so I can quieten it down as without the super trap on its 105db  And I want it bellow 100db so I can safely pass the track day noise regulations

Bought myself some Reyland bells and discs so I can have spares and will no doubt start making 4 pot brake kits when I get more time

I sent my AVO coilovers off for a re furb as they had started leaking and AVO did a rapid job of re furbing them (returned to me within a week) they have had all new pistons and seals, they even gave me spare collars and new bump stops and new top mounts for the rears, only thing that isn't new is the shock body which I will give a new coat of paint once back at work

And finally new 300lb rear springs to help me get the rear to how I like it

Plenty more bits on the way, it's like Xmas for me msl:
