Cheers mate, it'll be on the TOTB stand next to the TV one

Not sure what times I'll run as I've no had any practise at starts and not drag raced in about 6 years

13 flat wasnt amazing but certainly wasnt bad either considering it was first outing in it for 6 years and first outing ever at that spec.

123mph terminal certainly backs up the figures from the rollers nicely too.

Boost control next, that will make SO much difference, the biggest problem was clearly far too much power in 2nd and 3rd!

i think 13seconds is good for a car that basically has had no time invested in the control of all that power..the car did well mate, drove their, took some abuse, sounded the shizzle, only failure was a cheap gasket and then drove home.

in your developments on the car you can now tick the 'Has load of power' box lol

and when you start you new bout of developments you now have things to solve which should see all your improvements making a massive difference.

great weekend though mate, thanks for driving... was gutted not to have mine, but it was really motivating to see yours up and running and IMO doing well for how far you are with all the finishing touches

im aiming for TVL.... we need CCT mate

Tbh I'm happy with how the car went to say it has had no setting up what's so ever, wheels weren't balanced, tracking was way out and the coilovers in desperate need of a refurb, I just didn't have the time before the show, wasn't expecting big things bit gutted my 13.009 iirc wasn't just in the 12's but hey ho a 123mph terminal made up for that, like you say some boost vs throttle angle will allow me to put the power down earlier instead of wheel spinning 1/8th and then gripping, once I get hold of the videos I'll put them up as car sounded awesome with all the popping etc

Your right mate, I enjoyed myself and the car at the weekend loved driving it there at speed using it up the strip and still despite a exhaust manifold gasket failure I still drove it all the way home.
I now have a list of stuff I want to do to sort it out and a new target date to aim for in TVL

Adam I am off work from the 9th - 15th of July, so we can probably sort something out about some more mapping then, either back on the rollers or just on the road.

Sweet cheers, I think some road mapping would be good will sort the boost solenoid out and we can dabble with that as well

My car sounds like i've added a machine gun on the side just after i did the burnout lmao

Happy with my terminal speed which i think was 3rd fastest but you can hear the car spinning half way up the strip so my next job is to sort them issues out and put the car on a diet

I have set his engine to limit the RPM by cutting the ingition but still allowing the fuel to go through, this prevents the risk of a lean condition occuring that can happen if using the more traditional fuel cut.

The side effect of this is that on the limiter, lots of fuel makes it through, so when his tyres light up and it bounces off the limiter it does the bang thing.

I think that only the 4wd nova on the vauxsport stand didnt actually run up the strip at some point, all the others did (not that there was many of us anyway this year)

If its a standalone omex limiter, like for use on carbs etc, then yes.

If its intergrated into the management then you can do it either way, you can either use fuel cut or spark or both at same time, Dewis has ignition cut for a couple of hundred rpm before the fuel cut, so other than on a mechanical over rev it will never fuel cut.

    Cheers guys

Yeah as the mapping isn't finished Simon added the ignition cut hence the bangs and seeing as it span so much due to no boost vs throttle angle or rpm vs load in omex's case it was easily hitting l the limiter, that will be sorted for it's next drag outing

Didn't realise but I got the 3rd fastest terminal out of all the TOTB entrants only losing out to specky and the blue corsa so I'm very happy with the cars pace but as you can see and hear from the videos my starts are pure wheel spin even when short shifting in the later videos

    Re: dewismotorsport's C20LET Corsa gsi

Well finaly got round to whipping off the exhaust manifold as it started to blow after my 3rd go up the strip and i did intend on fixing it on the sunday but cause the weather was so wank i blanked it, still managed to get a proper gasket off steveboyslim so big thanks for that mate

Only a fiver more than the ****ty pattern one but the quality is miles better so a lesson learnt on my behave as i knew it wasn't the best when fitting it

As you can see i have burnt through the old one as i drove it back from PVS to Coventry and then down to work in Plymouth

It's warped the flange slightly on the manifold as a result so will take that to get skimmed before i refit

Also noticed a bolt missing from my engine mount and the other two were working there way loose so must not of lock tighted them

As it stands now ready for a breif tidy up and re fit
