Cheers guys, mapping is due in the next few weekends tbh i know Chip is very busy doing his own cars etc but he owes me a few good favours so will slot me in on a sunday evening for a few hours to get a good map upto 1 bar, then we will take it to his mates MOT place roughly about 100 miles away from Taunton mapping it the whole way, get it MOT'd then drive it back again mapping it on route to get the best "drivablitiy map" for it then do all the power runs at MTEC's which are dyno dynamics rollers which are highly regarded as the most acurate rollers on the market, will do 500bhp all day but will aim for between 400-450bhp for driveability on track etc

fitted the back braided lines today, and bleed the brakes, used the AP fluid as tbh it's the daddy

I then set about any surface rust, found the the usual suspect places being a 16 year old car msl: and nutra rusted them, then under sealed them, couldn't help myself and ended up doing the whole underside of the car  took forever but will be well worth it in the long run

I then fitted the rear brake lines and bleed them, for the looming MOT test

Had the wheels off today to check all bolts were done up etc i then decided to treat any slight surface rust so striped it back and nutra rust treated it

And then undersealed all under the arches

Then moved onto the back and finally got round to fitting the rear stud conversion

Just waiting on a couple of things to turn up and Rob to pull his chubby finger out and finish my loom once he finds all his loom braid and heat shrink

    Re: dewismotorsport's C20LET Corsa gsi

Slow progress lately as i'm waiting for Rob to finish off my loom, he's bought all new plugs, pins and braid so is doing a proper job

    Here's his wiring vortex msl:

The loom has been stripped of all non essentials and all the good stuff added which wasn't there before, we've added RPM vs load, launch control, shift light and may add traction control but that's not been decided yet

Rare shot of Rob in action

Workshop power was off all day today so set to work cleaning up my fiberglass boot and polycarbonate windows i bought off Sandsy. Used toothpaste to clean the windows and it worked a treat

Have since removed the spoiler and will fit my one as the paint work is a lot better, also removed all the old silicon off the windows and primed and painted new boarders

Above pic was a in progress one

Cheers guys, the windows I have are from plastic performance and they come with a painted black border like the standard glass ones have, looks much tidyer as you then can't see the sealant

small update, made a start on the fiberglass bonnet today sanded it all down and filled in any imperfections and gave it a coat of primer

need to order the white aerocatchs so that i can cut the holes out before putting the colour coats on

While the sun was out i thought i'd get a couple of photos, i need to forward them on to Al as he needs some up to date ones for the TOTB team log

Is looking good dude. What's "RPM vs load" wiring all about?

Cheers, it's simular to what rally cars run (throttle position vs boost) its wired in via a boost solenoid, which in effect turns your right foot into a boost controller, so if you are at 50% throttle you get 50% boost and so on, which in turn makes the car so much more driveable instead of have a whacking great boost spike, how I see it there's no point in having all that power if I can't put it down so this is the best option for a track car imo

No comes standard on the omex 600 just need to be wired to a boost solenoid which you do have to buy separately

    Re: dewismotorsport's C20LET Corsa gsi

Have started doing all the smaller jobs to get it ready for MOT time and one of them was to get a new windscreen fitted as the last one smashed when my bonnet flipped up

I went for the tinted screen as it was only about £8 more, came to £96 supplied and fitted I also bunged him a £10 to take out the rear quarter glass so that I could bond in the polycarbs

While Rob was finishing off my loom I re welded some of the joins on my OMP 10 point roll cage I bought off Sandsy a few weeks back

Won't be fitting this for a while probably after the summer

Rob has 98% finished the loom now and he's done a quality job, we bought all new plugs and pins and removed all excess wires and shorten it to suit my bay

    Re: dewismotorsport's C20LET Corsa gsi

Chip came down yesterday to start on the mapping, so big thanks to him
We took it round the car park a few times just to get the fueling closer and once he was happy we went out for some higher RPM runs and within a few runs he had it running sweet and had it pulling really well upto 12psi until we hit the 5K rpm limit he had put on as it was raining, i'm on R888's, we were on a country lane and my brakes don't work so pretty entertaining to say the lest lmao It's mapped enough for me to get it up to Chip's before we do more mapping on the way to the MOT station and will be mapped further on the way back, i'll then leave it with him so he can do the cold start map and then we will book the rollers for a few hours at MTEC and use there Dyno Dynamics rollers to do the power runs etc

Started doing the finishing touches to get car ready for MOT, mapping and geometry set up, so fitted up the whiteline rear ARB was supprised just how easily these fit

Also fitted the front ARB back on, had to mod the front mount on it as it was where the down pipe runs so just grinded a flat and moved the bracket down

Since going out in the car it's flagged up a few problems, first off was the suspension was way too low and needs highering more, and the brakes really need some attention as there pretty much isn't any I need to adjust where the push rod sits as it doesn't appear to be shifting the bias rod much which in turn isn't pushing the master cylinders so needs playing with, also i cocked up the other day and managed to pop a piston out of the caliper and now it's leaking so need to take it off again and re seat the seal

Ooo great bit of progress mate cars so close just the fine tuning now , shame about the problems with the brakes etc. But i bet it felt good just to take it for a quick spin lmao

Lookin forward to more progress and fine tuning, Keep up the good work
