    Re: shortys valver

just using this thread for updating now........

Hey i am going to be building my first XE corsa soon, i am getting the car on friday, i have the Late type XE witch i am cleaning up and stuff just now.

I have had 2 redtop corsa but never built one yet, the problem with the corsa's i have had is that they both had stock shocks and weren't the best of built cars, having leard from them its time to do my own i think,

i Have drilled groved and vented disks, bilstein B6 front shocks, (the piston is super chunky!!! ) and janspeed high performance rear shocks with spax 40mm springs all round. i am getting a set of toyo proxies t1-r to stick it to the floor, just need to save up for a quaife atb differential.

i am going to be emptying the car but the problem i have had with that before is that it seem to be tail happy some times, i have thought about weighting the rear axle, this in theory will add the weight to the back of the car and lower the center of gravity at the same time, ruducing the body roll of the car?????

    My new shocks and discs

got my shell yesterday!!!! the project begins

Started to take the engine out the day, got offered some slabs, so started slabbing some of my drive, got bored of that, then decided to dig a pit!!! we at least finished that!!

amazing to work under, and this is it with out any ramps!!

i got them from e-bay!! there are a few different variations, the price is a bit of a kit in the balls just for shocks, but safety first. check out the bilstein website BILSTEIN B6

    Re: shortys valver

i have got these pistons, as far as i no they are stock out of the 20xe engine that came into production before the c20xe with a cat?? but i am led to believe that they can handle far more power than the early or late type c20xe's

will these be the same size piston rigs and bearings?? i have had a look for some but there are some variations in size with different people, why is this, bore size?? what is the set size or piston rings and shells for a stock c20xe??
