    Post MARKS SE2

This is my 2nd, My 1st was wrote off Aug 2007, Ive had New Wishbones, New Discs, all round, Bosch Irridium Sparks, a 40mm lowered Suspension, Full SS Exhaust, Sports CAT, Astra MK4 SS Race Manifold, Forced Air Induction Kit, Ive got a fuel preeure regulator to put on.
I couldnt believe it, We had scaffolding & Roofers along the full block, so I parked the car on the street so it wasnt damaged, The Council Street Cleaning Machine was on the pavement, its banged into the drivers door & sill, its just drove off ! We didnt hear it with the noise from builders. You can see the brush marks on the door, its taken paint off back to bear metal, damaged the sill. £470-£500 Ive been quoted. The Council are trying not to take responsibility
The drivers side was nearest pavement, so either its the cleaner OR a Calibra hating baby with bodecia spikes & industrial brushes attached to its pushcair lmao !!
Ill put some pics up of the upgrades so far soon. Hopefully she'll be sorted proper soon

unlucky, get your insurers on the case.

PS. if it was moored at the time and you didn't see what happened you will need proof or a witness for the council to take responsibility otherwise good luck at court.

Nice one mate. Ive got collision solutions on the case, they specialize in non fault damage, so hopiging to get it sorted some time. It was one of the places that gave me a quote that put me onto them.

    Alright Greg Mate
Astra MK4 Race Manifold went straight on, BUT, I had to have the Sports CAT made for the car, as its astra mk4 fittings for the manifold going onto a Calibra SS Exhaust. It was pretty ok though, to buy an off the shelf sports cat it was £190 then you had to fit it. It cost me £180 to have one made for the car & fitted. I had a K&N but had to get a forced air induction kit, just to get enough to it. Just that alone has upped the bhp, Ive a few more things to fit & buy then I'll need to get it on a Rolling Road to see exactly what its now pumping out & have ecu remapped.
The Race Manifold is nowhere as restrictive, it needs a sports cat though and more air getting in. Its worth doing if speed & performance is your thing. Just need to be careful with big speedbumps but thats easy enough.

    Re: MARKS SE2

persevere with it; one of the council salt spreaders hammered the front of my omega last year. it was in almost as-new condition and they took perfectly circular 2mm holes out of the grille, bonnet, both wings, drivers door, drivers side passenger door, wing mirror, bumper... everything in it's path basically. i was fuming. six months of arguing with them and a lot of stress and 'this independent assessment' and 'that independent assessment' and eventually they caved and payed for a respray (just in time for the b'stards to get me again!!! true!!)

but the long and short of it is that if you have a case then run with it. the council(s) usually have a pot of money set aside to compensate the public for things like this, usually pot-hole damage to vehicles, so exploit it if you can. let us know how you get on.
