Looks like its going to be a scorcher when its done mate. A fair few bits have changed since i saw it as a bare shell on stands with the engine still complete (when i bout your cav slabs off you )

Gave my self another kick up the arse over the past couple of days!

Made the some more feet for the cage. They just need to be linished off on the edges.





I had a little issue with my welding skills on thin panels. It turns out filling holes is not my speciality, the bulk head looked like Dick Tracy had shot at it with a semi automatic gunlmao
My Good mate pulled me out of the **** and cut out, and pieced in were the damage was. Its actually stronger now were the welds are is I suppose thats a good thing

Nice one Benn, Going to crack on with the underside soon, Get it all in primer and then stone chip it. Then I can flat off and mask up ready to paint the lot all in one go. Thats the plan anyways

Then its off to the body shop for its new roof and to be painted inside. Dont trust myself with that finish lmao

Col just been looking through your pictures prepping the bay as im in the process of doing mine. What is the creamy brown substance you have used around most of the joints and for what reason etc, any advice would be great

Thats seam sealer mate. Ive stitch welded all the spot welded seams were the panels meet so the seam sealer prevents corrosion. Its also flexable as the 2 panels will always move. The seam sealer prevents water getting between the panels.

Just go to your local car shop/body shop sales and ask for seam sealer. It doesn't matter about the make. Its all the same

Right... Little update guy's....I thought I'd prove that I'm not letting the old girl rot away and be forgotten about. I've hardly touched the car at all this year due to work commitments and being out of the UK. But I have done little bits and I have been collecting bits so at least it’s going forward at a slow pace

Got all the box section for the cage and the harness bar properly welded in now.















All primed.







Just offered up.. Got to get this welded in when I get in the garage for the belts



Offered up my new cooler and rad under my new pro-tech lower slam panel. Fit's spot on





This is the only bit of rust found on the whole shell which I'm really pleased with. I just put abit of primer on it while I was away in Saudi. Just needs cutting out and replacing with a new piece.



And a little collection of bit's I've been getting over the months. Once the shell is eventually done I aim for it to be one big airfix kit

Whats the slam panel all about ?

It's dropped slightly mate. It's actually designed for a throttle bodied motor and is supplied with another piece that fits to the underside of the bonnet to flow air through the top grill and over to the trumpets. I got the slam panel off JR cheap on its own so by sitting the bonnet up at the back it will allow air to flow through the bay and keep temps down.
