so have you fixed the spluttering? how much fuel was in the tank for the session?
Providing the car didn't play up, which at the time, I wasn't sure of.

Lol, I was going to mock myself for that but forgot. I know, bad road habit, even worse on track. Would hardly call it "gangster style" though.

No issues since which support fuel starve with sideways G force. Haven't actually been under the bonnet since for a few reasons.

    Not enough it would seem!

It all seemed very strict in the briefing, then out on sessions the marshals seemed to sleep and no one else seemed to care, lol.

Maybe I'm spoilt by a modern car with decent epas and become lazy but I don't find the "need" to hang onto the wheel. However I'm fully aware that I should and make little excuse for not doing so. Consider my wrists e-slapped! lmao

Not been on here in a while, not really been any progress

I ordered some carbon fibre front door cards from Performance trim for £140. They went bust, Paypal wouldn't cover me outside of the 45 day buyer protection and my bank were useless.

I picked up a new rear upper strut brace from Warren at TVL. This one stands a chance of doing something which I'm sure Lee will be a little more impressed with.

I also got some shiny bolts to smarten up the engine bay a little.

And more recently picked up these for a bargain £100

They will be getting a DIY refurb in some funky colour and some part worn tyres for track use. I still need to check they clear my brakes but I'm confident they will.

    That's all for now!

gangster grip is forgivabe i guess if its got epas ? guessing the C is light years ahead in chassis rigidity ? seems pretty solid, no wrestling on wheel the required.

i dont think there is anything overtly wrong with your track session, it seemed quicker than most, and looked pretty poised, lines were alright.

it felt a bit frustrating to watch, like benns video, you seem to be coasting half throttle inbetween corners, little squirt on the throttle every now and then, worrying about people coming up fast behind you, worrying about your track position. you just need a bit of confidence, grit your teeth, stick your boot in and get on with it. the onus is on the people behind to get past safely (with you acknowledging you are aware of them) not for you to keep out of everyones way.

Yup, EPAS with a manually adjustable potentiometer. Having said that I have since been practicing my "10 and 2" on the roads, it's just a better habbit to be in. Certainly no wrestling required.

Yeah to be honest it wasn't exactly the session on which I'd like to be judged lmao for various reasons. Especially towards the latter half where I'd semi given up and was just watching out for the off point. It's not unfair to say I was worrying about other people more than I should. My first time out at Combe and certainly the fastest track I've been on. There was Dunsfold park but that was single file and no overtaking allowed. Certainly lessons learnt for next time. Chomping at the bit to get back out and enjoy the car but probably won't until next year now.

£100 is a bargain for the pro race wheels, helps to 'make-up' a bit after the performace trim lark..

Fab thread, lot of info! gives me the urge to get up and go !!

You wont belive me, but ive sat here over the past day and read the wholleee thread begining to end !!

MikeITB- you have done such a fab job with the car, and for the record...i liked the floral vinyl.
would love to bump into you at a show. im wanting to do a big project to...but was unsure of what route to take...
think this thread has made up my mind for me!

Would be great if you could give me any advice you can & and you seem to have your fingers in all the right pies! (good contacts).

Thanks. It's always nice when someone has read through it and enjoyed it.

If you think this thread is long you should see the one on corsa-c.co.uk , its probably 5 times what this one is lmao

Advice? Erm.... plan what you want to achieve and research the **** out of it. My biggest "regret" is doing things and then changing them again afterwards, its such a waste of money. Apart from wheels, I've loved every set lmao. That's about all I can think of without asking about anything specific.

I'm certainly no expert, what I know is insignificant compared to the knowledgeable people on here but if there's something you think u can help you with feel free to pm me.

I've been lucky in many respects and met a lot of good friends along the way. I can honestly say my car wouldn't be half of what it is without them.

Re: My 1.8 (z18xe) Corsa C on Jenvey throttle bodies

I realise it has been quite some time since my last update. There hasn't been much over the winter months and the car sadly hasn't even moved a great deal.

The awesome Mr Warren G fit my new strut brace for me. I also replaced my leaky inner CV boot. I've purchased some part worn 195/50/15" Yoko tyres for the track wheels and that's about all.

I'm in contact with Jonlem to purchase some 90mm throttle body spacers, once they're here I'll hack out the bulk head and fit them with a proper dome filter. The innards of my cylinder head must be black with grime by now from the miles without any kind of filter.

Progress will start again but will be slow, mainly as my girlfriend and I have purchased this:

Yeah garage is a definite plus! Hopefully the Corsa should squeeze in although it might be a little tight. Desperate shed too so the garage can be kept for car stuff only :-)

Ha ha, you shouldsee the current decor, proper old! We never went looking for a bungalow but its ideal really. Extend into the loft and you've got a house but shed loads more floor space to begin with.

Neither of those things will be happening for a long time, trust me, lol.

    Thanks
