Hopefully you'll get it soon mate, keep your chin up, will be worth it in the end. Do what Peester did and use the time well by polishing/painting etc...

Lol, yup of course. Epic workshop he has there, like an alladin's cave of motorsport parts lmao

Ah yes Joy, I've spoken to her a few times, never filled me with confidence that the message would get through but I think it did, lol

My alternator bracket looks like 2 OEM brackets welded together and painted black to be honest, want a pic?

Thanks, lol. Like I say it's nice to find some other people with similar set ups.

he is being a bit of an arse mate, tho they have issues with health over there at the mo so they say theyre not in very often but not sure how true that is.
Joy told me on tuesday last that hes trying to sort a hayabusa engine all busy last minute.com at the moment. But as said he could also be busy messing with a tractor engine to that end too

Hi mate, love the car and i also have the Z18xe but in the astra coupe. Im all for moding the Z18xe iv seen some reach 200bhp+ without forced induction, do you know the best place to buy cams from, id just like fast road cams. And also it would be great if you could upload some more photos of your engine bay.

    cheers, Tom.

Hello mate, thanks for the comments My cams are from Piper and I can vouch for thier consistent high quality. Give them a call and see what they think would be best to match your plans.

I'm picking up my modified rocker cover, alloy catch tank and decat pipe this weekend, I've also got an alloy header tank being sent to me. Once that's all in I'll get some pics, should look mint!

if you want 200bhp+ tho the piper cams, like most , using o.e pistons arent going to cut the mustard. Earlier in the thread was discussed that the nature of the engine only allows mild cams to be fitted , cut-out/pocketed pistons are a must if you want anywhere near 200bhp..

Further to this, PEC/Wossner are currently developing a set of rod and pistons for the Z18XE and will be available by about the end of August. They will be priced at £887.

Personally I wouldn't have standard pistons pocketed as I've heard bad things and scry stories. Ask Warren about his z18

Where did you get the rocker cover from/made, it looks alot better then the standard horrible plastic one. Im not aiming for 200bhp+, pockets arnt that deep. Anything from 160-175 ill be happy with i think.

same here, i agree - the bp270 piper cams discussed, with t.b's and exhaust manifold decent pumps and injectors should be fine.

This may be quite an obvious question but whats the advantage of t.b's over a decent inlet manifold and derestricted airbox with a veccy c intake?

Re: My 1.8 (z18xe) Corsa C on Jenvey throttle bodies

when i say t.b's - im mean the whole kit and kaboodle: multiple (x2 twin)- 40 or 45mm bodies with uprated injectors, inlet and programmable engine management (MBE, DTA etc)
for starters the x4 throttle bodies , or one-per-cylinder or one-per injector is gonna get through way more air and fuel than one governed o.e throttle body.
Also the prog. management bins all the basic, over-sensor'ed o.e vauxhall mangement with its limited parameters for a limit-less, performance-orientated management system that you can alter/control.
But i bought them mainly for the noise

Re: My 1.8 (z18xe) Corsa C on Jenvey throttle bodies

Oh right, so in that sort of set up you wouldnt have to have an air filter? And also whats a rough cost for all this kit? cheaper then a dbilas intake manifold. (around £1000)

    Thanks for the info!

I'd say it was the otherway round.... OEM ECU's are pretty much limitless but to the average monkey tuner they are heavily restricted, where as the Aftermarket stuff tends to be technology from about 10-15years ago but with full access

full access, yeah - thats a better word.
Limited access on o.e.m management= limited gains to be had nevertheless.

the chap asking seems a bit new to it all..

If you want one send me a PM, I can get them made up and sent out to you. It's a friend of mine that makes them

Stay away from the dbilas inlet manifold, lots of money to lose mid range torque and push all the power up to the top of the rev band, I know because I had one.

As far as I'm aware yes, I spoke to the PEC guys at Performance Vauxhall Show and they seemed very confident. Give them a call if you like, let us know how you get on
