looking good Ron. I'm sure it will be even tidier once you have had it for a wee while. Plate has got to be worth a few quid too being a single digit.

All the best for the arrival of ickle Ron. Bet you are looking forward to sweets and chocolate getting mushed into your car seats in a few years time lmao

Nice looking car. Always had a soft spot for the GSi;s. The mate used to have one identical to that7-8years ago which I was going to buy but it got stolen
Couldn't think of anything good to put in here.

cheers lads great welcome to the cav

but im afraid all the subscribee's are gonna be pretty disapointed, there really is nothing major going to be happening to the family car, its here for that running the family around, will just be tidying it up here and there and little bits and piceses speccing it up not even going to open the bonnet unless something breaks

had a trial run of the baby seat

and then gave it a colour magic up today

now to go for a airport trip to pick up the missus's mum lmao

Re: Ronnie's New Family Car - Cavalier GSI :)

was browsing through ebay, and saw there was some mint diplomat leather seats, 15miles away i was on it, emailed him, phoned them up, and went and got it today

all the seats, but he didnt have the cards

he did banger racing and he had a whole diplomat he broke to use for bangers, and he threw away all the other stuff, all the matching door cards and trims, all the aircon and stuff if only he'd advitised the whole thing before he raced it could of specced it up to the max aw well

    so my seats all out

front seats went all in as expected, but i had been told diplomat rearleather wouldnt rit as the floor are different for cars with independent rear suspension (*gsi's and turbo's) rather than the rest of the cav range with a rear beam, so i though id see how much was wrong, the two ends of the back rest were fine, but the middle wasnt

but a couple of self tapping bolts and happy days, the bottoms were totally differnt though

    fit in the place nice

but fall out as soon as you try and touch them

theyre compleatly differnt, the hinges and back where it rests

so it needs some turbo rear seats..... or some super custom brackets

but for now its got the light grey standard stuff lmao

looks a millions times better with black interior

now heres a real total scool boy error that everyone is gonna laugh at.. ok ok.... but ive never had a cav before lmao

on the centre consol buttons (what a crap place to put the window buttons by the way )

what does the round button do that's between the child lock window button and the drivers seat

how the hell do you set the clock on the trip computer

and where do the heather seats buttons go on a diplomat/turbo?

I think you hold the button in to force the windows to move, and ignore the safety feature where they stop moving when they feel resistence. useful if it ices up i think. Trip computer you set with those 2 tiny buttons on the seperating bit of the switch, use a pin or something. And the heated seat switches go in a special panel in the cubby hole underneath the ash tray

    1.4bar = 356bhp :-)

Re: Ronnie's New Family Car - Cavalier GSI :)

the button actually turns off the rear elec windows so ya kiddies can't mess
Edit: opps just re read that! is it a button? i don't remember being any other button maybe a position for something to go there but not actually a button
p.s you do know about the pull the headlight switch for interior light ? and to close all windows if you've already got out the car using the key? just hold the key in the lock position for 3secs then the windows go up
