Haha you got the turbo you was on about then mate? You sure it's big enough? On a serious note I've bought 3 spare turbos for mine off eBay an they have all been knackered How much do you want for your t25 posted to mine if you are selling it? Stevo

hi steve im going to keep the turbo as a spare as i never know my plans

well had a visit over the weekend to sort out the bay on the car and have spent today putting the engine back in and placing the turbo on the engine to get an idea of where it would sit and spacing ive got a different manifold to get which should bring it up a bit have also done a wiring tuck so very little wiring in the bay now

    all painted

Re: My Saab powered MK3 Astra

Can't you turn the turbo round 180 degrees? Will be a bit of a drama getting the downpipe to run where it should unless you have a custom sump made. The 9000 downpipe runs off the turbo to the offside but I'm sure you already know that! Can't believe how big it is! Will it be ready for pvs? I'm booking mine in for a dyno at the scooby clinic soon so I'll let you know how it gets on

and how the car currently stands

have done all the engine wiring now so the engine all works now but i cant start it as i need to do oil pipes to turbo and do my coolanty pipes but this all depends on me going to get my 9000 manifold tommorow, have done a few other things but im sure the eagler eyed will spot some of the work in progress bits

Alright chief I've got a 9000 manifold off and ready to post if you can't get your hands on 1. Let me know mate. Also if anybody suggests using an f20 with a Saab conversion tell them to not bother cos it will last about 3 hours!

that turbo looks like its gonna be rubbing on everything matey engines move around quite abit, might be worth giving it a bit more space while its an easy job.

im making a v shaped adapter for the turbo so will bring it about 1 inch maybe a bit more closer to the engine so clearance should be ok as its just the rad its close to, thats all the wiring in the bay just pipes to do really

Re: My Saab powered MK3 Astra

the holset ive got is a he341 which was fitted to the auto dodge ram trucks so is a tad smaller than the hx35 its specs are

    HE341: 54MM Compressor
    HE341: 9 CM Exhaust Housing
    HE341: 58MM Inducer

    also has titanium comp wheel

the h2a is a big turbo and will be hard to get spooling low down the he341 im putting on no one has used over here yet there is one saab in the usa using it but havent been able to find any pics or info on it, the main ones people use are the hx35 twin scroll turbos and they are now moving on to the he351 VGT turbos with 2 x guys over here getting to grips with the varaible vane

Re: My Saab powered MK3 Astra

ok well no real updates on the car its back on the road and did 400 miles last weekend down to santa pod and back and the new engine run like a dream and revs so much better with the balance shaft chain removed, collected a manifold flange on the way back

so the 200sx manifold nearly stripped down and new flanges for both ends

hoping to have this finished in the next week so i can get the turbo on ready for billing

this was the first day with the new engine and the aux belt jumped off and got mangled by the engine so my mate towed me back to work to save messing with it at the side of the road

I spent a small fortune on custom powersteering hoses for mine so I can put the pump back on. Mine did exactly the same when I replaced the pump for a small pulley, flirted the belt off and then I was left pulling bits of string out of the bottom pulley! man-down!
See you have removed your balance shaft chain... Does it really make that much difference? Did you remove both balance shafts too?
