I'm really not sure Gary. I know that I won't be able to do it myself so I'm going to have to come up with a plan somewhere along the line.
Thought you had facility's within the family
if u need a hand with your c18xe just give us a shout happy to help just need a nice cup of coffie mines in and running just waiting for postie with a f16 box out of a 1985 cavalier sri and a set of 22 spline shafts ebay is great!![]()
magic. Thanks very much for the offer. I will more than likely give you a shout when the time comes.
Need to purchase myself a release bearing and a box first.

and get your finger out and crack on lmao
more fecking about and no engine progress.
New seats. I forgot to put the side mounts in the car when I picked them up thoughEllie is picking them up on Monday for me so it's all good.
Stuck the pads in the washing machine when I got home and will give them a brush and hoover before fitting.
old clocks Vs New clocks. Pretty bloody close with the mileage.
Big thanks to Owen (C2VXL) for the seats and clocks.
Tonight while Ellie is working at the pub I took the opportunity to strip out the back seats (again), rear seatbelts, some more interior plastics and the headlining. Need to work out what to do with my interior light now though![]()
New seats look greatBargain aswell
Yehh them seats are nice mate. You fully stripping out the car then mate yehh. What are the options with the interior light ??
Liam
Oooh nice seats, first dibs on them when you break it lmao![]()
Jack said,
Surely you are only pulling it one way though? ie. you are pulling it along its length.
Cheers. They were indeed.
lmao cheers Keith
Yeah, plan is just a dash and seats basically. Not too sure about the interior light. Either remove it and tape up the wires or try and find one at the scrappy that screws in rather than clips into the headlining.
Couldnt you make a plate or something that you can screw the light into mate. Love stripped cars, im iffing and aaring weather to do mine. Done it on my last car and it looked pretty good.
Keep up the work mate.
Old school rally type of light you know on the flexi hose,a clip to hold it back when you don't want it wandering about.
you know i've got a work space, need to find an excuse to work on my thing anyway
Had a fairly productive day today although I don't like what I found.
Before
And now
and what I didn't want to find. It would seem that 20k miles commuting and one Scottish winter didn't do two of the drain plugs any good. You can see in this pic that
I seperated the pre-tensioners from the Tigra subframes but I am not fitting them or the Cobra seats until I can find someone to do a bit of welding for me.
Eye's for the snap hook harnesses fitted.
So until the holes are welded the cat will be happy............ lmao

OK. Time for another wee update.
With the headlining out the interior light was just flapping about. Ebay to the rescue. £3 posted for a caravan type light. 2 holes drilled, wired up and screwed in.
Hardly the brightest light in the world but it will do.
£100 each for Cobra specific subframes will have to wait a while so I bolted back in the Astra sport drivers seat and took the harnesses out of the packet.
Went to see a man about a dog this afternoon and I will be getting the holes in the floor welded some evening next week. All cheap, cheap. Thank ****.
Ooh! Forgot about these.......
Free delivery from Murray. They came from his Grandads Astra Merit Auto. Thanks very much John.
Should fit in with the sleeper look rather nicely.
Just need to get my hands on a heat gun now then I can get cracking with removing all that tar crap with the help of the 3 for £1 decorating knives I scooped up from Tesco.

wheel trims - love it! Harness looks cool
Cheers Gary.
Harnesses were cheap from Paddock Spares - £29.50 + VAT each.
I wanted them in black as they are more subtle in my opinion.

fantastic progress
Very good progress as per usual Melv, keep up the good hard work.
Another update since I didn't have to go and watch a vessel loading yesterday.
It was relatively warm yesterday so I decided to attack the tar type crap on the inside
2 carriers full.
Just need to get all the glue off and then a lick of red hammerite but couldn't be arsed lmao
Also whipped of the tops of the door cards. Left the pockets as they are handy.
Fitted a jesus handle to the passenger side as there wasn't one there before, my sunglasses holder to the drivers side and tidied the wiring for the interior light

I was clearing some crap out of the glove box and thought it was about time I fitted these. Old school stickers FTMFW

My Frost Blue Corsa : http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/proje...erm%2A%2A.html
No worries Melv.
I'd of just chucked them out anyway. They'll look good with a dab of paint here and there and on the Corsa.
BTW I wouldn't mind taking those Sport front seats off you IF you were wanting shot of 'em at a later stage?
