    re: Super Touring #352

Right thought id start another project thread as the last PROJECT THREAD was on the Supertouring shell #377 which is now in car heaven as the bottom had completely rotten.

So here is #352 bought about 5 6 months ago and i havent really done alot to her yet

some pics before i bought her.

i then fitted the new back box

i then fitted the towing eyes and stickers, also ive had the windscreen replaced aswell as the one with the strip decided to crack randomly one morning

and this is how it sits now, she's had a new gearbox aswell as the diff in my old box decided to give up.

This weekend 19/12/09 i will be fitting new coilovers, new OMP targa steering wheel and my new GSI wheels in white

come the new year im planning on getting the car dyno'd so i have a base figure to work from as im planning on getting atleast 200bhp from the car.

further plans are body work to be sorted (rust and paint scuffs) new mesh grilles, new stainless steel exhaust system, leads 3.8fpr, 3.0ltr cams and one day will be turbo'd engine but still deciding on C or Z power and it'll be a few years yet.

right heres a slight update as i now have my camara back and yes i no i should have cleaned it first but oh well.

    one of the steering wheel

next on the list is to have the thing all laser aligned as the coilovers have thrown the tracking out then dyno at the end of feb, then its 3ltr cams time. then from march onwards its time to sort the rust out, as you can see its spreading a bit now!

    right heres an update.

had some time off work so decided to work on the car

thought id start by hiding some relays

    before

    after

    then blanked the EGR

then decided to gut the air con out, take the secondary air pump out and do the 3 pipe mod at the same time

washed it today also but got no pics

    right time for another update.

Weathers been great so thought id give the rust on the car a looking at, currently saving to get the car re-sprayed but thats going to cost me a bomb so i thought to myself i could give it a go, surely couldnt make a worse job of what was already there.

the cars needs a wash i no but im quite impressed with how different she looks, il do the other side next week but this was the worst of it and im chuffed, it'll do untill i win the lottery atleast

Right to just get this project thread going again.

Cars been off the road for some time now but she's not been forgotten.

Within in the next fortnight all the welding should be done (new rear arches, spare wheel well cut out, floor hole sorted and the hole under the windscreen fixed also)

the whole cars stripped out and wiring has been thined out and the cars still running luckily, got to sort the exterior lighting out as the mid has been removed.

once the cars back from the welders its going for its re-spray then cage fitting. once thats in place its time to start re fitting the dash, wiring and new seats ready for next summer when im aiming to get the car back on the road.

Il put pic's up as soon as i get some

    Right its update time again.

Nothing i wrote before has gone to plan lol, me and and my brother removed the engine as it was no longer required and it was just making pulling the car in and out of the garage an absolute nightmare.

was actually really easy to do considering.

Next up was clearing out the interior as i will be picking up my new seats next saturday (fluffsri's old ones :-)) i also re fitted the dash in as it kept getting knocked and kicked about inside the car.

and this is how she is right now, still need to remove some last bits of sound deadening. in the up and coming weeks the seats will be trial fitted, the welding WILL get sorted (my friends decided re fitting his kitchen was far more important) and im currently trying to make up some templates for the door cards and trying to persuade work to make me some carbon fibre ones :-).

I've also sorted a full cage to go in the car so fingers crossed santas going to bring me some pennys for crimbo so i can have it fitted in the new year.

All comments welcome. (Also if anybody on admin could change the supertouring number to 352 that'll be wonderfull)
