Re: Track day corsa turbo build

Going for it at half 3 and i might start stripping the interior out tonight. Going for a slightly different plan with this one. Going to try and strip the interior out but keep it as a driver so i can drive it to jays to have the cage welded in and then drive it home. Should be able to do that all been well but we will see how things work out. Cannot really be bothered having to trailer it here there and everywhere.

don't need dash in to drive it anywhere. the wires are fine dangling about; been there, done that. Plus Rick, if you want to remove all that crap on the floor again, the dash'll need to come out anyway.

That was the plan, zip tie the clocks to the column bracket. Will leave the heater matrix in for now as i cannot be arsed dicking about with repiping the engine + its to cold to drive anywhere without heaters.

Car will be a shell like before, but just a drivable shell! Will make sure fuel tank is removed this time lmaolmaolmao

Its gonna have a bloody great sheet of alloy over it, or something a little fancy

Spent ages looking at the pics on ebay and decided it had not got a sunroof, there was no mention of it in the description either so i gambled and lost!

Ive seen quite a few sunroof panels replaced with a exact carbon fibre replica panel bonded in that looks good, better than a sheet of metal pop rivetted on, IMHO..

Same, but a guy i know had a sunroof blank(and f&r door cards) done for his 306 and you can see thru the weave, the gel coat has been badly put on and the edges are very badly cut/trimmed. Very piss poor.

Its getting it weeled in well with out a lot of filler, the roof skin is very very very thin. Be alot better to bond a bit of something in.

I was looking at the performance trim door cards and roof skin. Will now have to think it over.

Wanted one without a sunroof. Had thought this one had not got one as the auction never mentioned it and there was no sign of one in the pictures.

O well could have been far worse.

I aint doing a full roof replace!

Was just looking at the performance trim bond on panels. You cut all round the edge of the roof leaving a 2" lip and then bond it to that.

Thats what i mean, no point, just bond bit in to cover the hole, but make sure its a good bit of weave.
