    Choppy choppy:

Cheers MattJ, saves a fair bit of hassle. Still need to wipe it over with thinners or panel wipe:

Yep very, seen the one Luca on passionford has fitted from performance trim to his fiesta turbo.

Performance trim will make them for £418+vat but i need to get another 4 corsa owners interested so its worth them making the mould.

I have another option far closer to home and am just waiting on them firming up a price for me. They will make just one lightweight mould and use it just the once for a similar price to performance trim.

Good effort Rick, coming together well or should I say apart lmao

Carbon roof idea would be different, obviously not exactly required but its good to be different, plus having no roof will give Nortech a easier time fitting this cage this time round.

Carbon roof sounds cool, are you going to leave it unpainted?

I'm really looking forward to seeing this take shape! Looks like an excellent shell.

Re: Track day corsa turbo build

that rear quater on the old shell was an easier job than the roof on this one haha!
you were probably looking at a couple of hundred quid in materials for the quater panel, couldnt you have got a mate to help prep it up cheeper?
seems as though you are going around in circles here bud! you would have saved your self another big body job by simply asking if it was a sunroof or non sunroof model before you bought it! lol
    never mind.

How do you figure that one out? Carbon roof is just bonded on and will look right or a whole new standard panel that will only require spotting inplace and sealing up.

The old rear quarter would never look right and you would always be able to tell it had been bogged up.

O and i did ask if it was a sunroof model or not before i got it but got no reply. It was worth a risk as the rest of it is spot on.

I actually somehow missed the page that said about the carbon roof so my apolgise's there. the carbon roof sounds good and will save weight, will look tough aswell!

the quater wouldnt have looked bodged up if it was repaired by a quality panel beater but thats gone now, so on wards and upwards. lookin forward to seeing the roof!

Trying to decide if i should have the seat rails done like this or not? Can anyone see any advantage or disadvantage in leaving the standard metal section in that spans the car?

    like its a hire car

Re: Track day corsa turbo build

advantage: it stiffens the shell more in a side impact

disadvantage: its heavy and may get in the way.

Id say its requirement is mitigated by the seat rails if they are done right so Id remove it

Don't see the point of keeping the standard rails if you're welding in new ones. Mine have been removed

JR its one that custom cages had prepped that they sent out on a cd with the old cage.

I am going to try and avoid removing it, will save me drilling out a lot of spot welds! Will see for proper tomorrow if one of the seats arrives!

I think I'd be tempted to leave it in for backwards compatibility, but I'm weird like that. lmao
