You have the skills....
I know a guy called Pete, who just does engine conversions for the Russians, they send over the car. He fits the engine and gets about Ł7k a turn. They would love you Ronnie

got a bit done today
in the sierra bit there where two little bits of rot that needed doing, its right at a bit where its 3 skins thick, where the gearbox mounts, and it was only the top skin that rotted through
cut out the top skin and started wire wheeling
and welded a new bit in
good as new
i started sticking the sierra cross brace, but then mr mig had an empty belly
yum yum all topped up
but within 5 mins of welding the brace in, the welder diedthe gearbox that drives the wired is full of plastic gears and ones died
bloody plastic gears
so the welder needs to under go some surgery of its own!
so with out a welder i couldnt do anything else,
next on the list of things to do is make the rear turrets to clear the coilovers, ive found some nice pipe that'll do the job, but the back of the car is full of crap
so cleared all the cage out
and hoovered the whole car out as it was very full of griding and sealer everywhere
so thats how i left it today..

starting to take shape nicely now. Top work as always![]()

sent off the little gearbox and my regulator as one of the gauges just started to miss read, sent it tuesday
and received two brand spankey new bits today, no questions at all![]()
cant grumble at that![]()

Fast for the posties too
was on nights again the last part of the week, but had afternoon free today and was in a real astra-in mood![]()
so got the new little gearbox back in the welder
and mr mig was all back and operational
so could carry on where i started before it died, stitching up the sierra cross brace
next thing to do was finish the ends of the sierra brace too
started making
and all welded in, and the seat mount and the drilled holes of the old astra brace
and the other side
a few more underseal fires  the underneityh looks like a right war zone now, but will all look factory when i get it up on its side
and there was one more little bit of rot in the sierra floor that needed cutting out and plating
so thats all the top of the floor all finished nowwoo

next thing to do was turn the attention to the rear turrets.
i put the calibra 4x4 rear tubs in as the astra ones would of has the dampers in the wrong place, and the calibra ones are a fair bit bigger than the astra ones too, but still not big enough for these
and so the rear end needed 'turreting', ive seen the turret kits every one buys and uses, big massive boxes, does the job, but would look a bit gash in the back onf mine as im still trying to keeping it looking like it could of been a factory rwd astra
so had a dig around up the farm, and found this lol
started cutting down, and you can see the size of it a bit better now
started cutting and chopping
you can see how much further this comes in now compared to standard
all cleaned up
and welded in
inside i'd deliberatly left the pipe way too long so i could trim it back to suit
and all trimmed back and welded in
and then just welded around the top of the factory pannel join,
and so the comparresen.......
i'll be grinding it all down and filling it somoot, so they'll look like factory turrets![]()
loads of room now
so next the other side, not sure when though, family day tomorrow
