yeah its very impressive. interrested to see how it comes out. recon a rear wheel cally turbo might be in order i feel as thye defo missed the boat with that option,
good luck with the progress, be ready for billing 2009?
no 'to finish' date!
i dont think building the shell is going to take too long, all the fabrication and mounting. its gonna after its painted and putting all bak together is going to be the slow bit, stopped by lack of funds, its all the finishing bits that are the expensive bits![]()
Its nice to see these cars that are done on a realistic budget instead of a company promo where Tens of Thousands are thrown at the project. Unually the results are not as good as the home projects.![]()

not hopefully NOTHING boy
i've got a cool bike down there distractin me now lol
Just think how much "Progress" Ł260 would of made....
rights todays progress, had a little break but back to it
first off was welding the front section in
''cut and shut officer? what ever do you mean?''
underneith you can see how far forwards the new floor is
not sure weather to cut this off flush then seam weld round, or fold it up the new floor and weld it on there... hmmm
welded all the sills in
next problem was the chassis legs to finish, shortening the floor posed a problem,
on one side the chassis leg is straight, and lined up ok
but the other side is at an angle, heres a bit i chopped out
which resulted in this lol
so drilled it off
and made up a new chassis leg, had to miss the bumper bolt hole that was right there too
getting a right patchwork quilt under here  wil all be nice ground off!

your making some brilliant progress mate i look forward to every updatekeep it up
Nice work. One question though, you've mentioned the cut and shut. Now obviously its a lot stronger than one of them but is just welding the metal together there going to be strong enough? i have no idea myself was just wondering. Keep up the good work.
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
Well yes, but the floorpan is one piece isn't it? so as it flex's it will flex as a whole? where as yours might flex against each other so to speak.

Nice, i was gonna say cuold you not plate over the top of the chassis legs so they look all smooth?
Floor wise, bend it up and weld it on, be good for strench surely?
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.
The floorpan is all in sections from the factory anyway and they only spot weld it together. So once the welding is done properly its all good.
Im amazed at how quickly this is moving along
Ah cool, didn't know that.![]()
