fantastic project![]()
Thanks guys!
Yesterday the T-56 arrived and today it's a bolt on to the Lotus engineSo this weekend I'll install a dummy engine and the tranny in the car so we can start fabricating intake and exhaust.
wow, this thing will be an absolute animalway to show it's not just the yank&jap stuff that can make big power
i cant wait to see the progress![]()

Excellent project. Some really good and thorough work going on there.
Keep it going![]()
Sorry for the lack of updates, but things has been slow lately. Look at the first thread to see an update on the specs.
The rear drivetrain is complete with all new bushes etc. The front sub frame with wish bones, suspension, bushes etc. is all mounted on. The dummy engine with the tranny has been inside the car but was pulled out again to adjust the angle on the tranny. Should go back in tomorrow with the right tranny angle (=straight). Rear brake bells are done, waiting for calipers to arrive so I can make the caliper brackets. Should be able to measure up the prop shaft tomorrow so I caan go ahead and order it. Finally decided to go for a fuel cell tank and it will be a 85 liter ATL with remote fill and fuel level sender. This leaves plenty of room for big exhaust silencers and a well designed fuel system layout.
Will come back with more pictures soon.
looking forward to the pic's![]()
like it hope to see more of this
I looked at those ARP bolts but I think they foul each other in one place especially as they are the only bolts with the right thread size
I'm building a normally aspirated C36GET/C30SE based 3.7 L 24V on Throttle bodies for a track car
The hole spacing on the LC crank screws up using bolts with 3/4 heads
@bstardchild: What do you mean? These flywheel bolts is not made for Lotus, they are for Toyota. We have used this bolts before without any issue.
The car is now back together as a rollong chassis. I have made a few updates on my website, www.lotusomega.no, mostly brakes and chassis is updated, more to come during the weekend.
I realise the bolts are for Toyota but if you've actually fitted them then thats great news and I have a much better option for my build (and the two other people in the UK also building hybrid normally aspirated C37SE engines)
My problem was the 8 bolt fixing arrangement for the LC crank is not symetrical - ie the holes are spaced unevenly - this leads to two bolt heads almost touching so no room to get a socket over the head to torque up the bolt.
Did you take a picture of the flywheel bolted to the crank?
what do u work as magnus??

wow stunning project keep the pics coming
Will post more pictures soon. Got 4 front brake calipers from Porsche GT2 the other day, will look amazingAlso half done with my custom fuel tank, started working on the intake manifold as well.
If it helps I'll post up a picture of the 4.5 kg single mass flywheel bolted to the LC crank on the first 3.7 N/A 24V engine
It seems clear 3/4 inch or 19mm heads cannot be used due to hole spacing....so I'm really interested to see how you got around it.
I'd considered cap heads but the heads are too tall and the friction centre disc fouls the bolt heads
Yes, we have tried the flywheel bolts on and we have made a special tool to fasten some of the bolts. It is too tight, but we made a tool to fasten it easily.
would admagine it looks like a ground down 19mm![]()
