vectra gsi silver estate
hi, ive found the gsi i bought to fix up was once on here:
Vectra GSi Estate
its that one there. does anyone remember it? i dont think the old owner has been on for a while.
anyway sadly it looks a little more worn since then. i bought it with a cracked bumper, kerbed wheels, bit of rust, tow bar and most importantly a duff engine with a wrecked aux belt and no compression.
so after 2 aa vans tow it home i got to wash it once (it had sat for a while i think) and then just as the tax was about to run out i got a friend to tow it to where it was to be fixed.
first off the engine came out and after stripping it down it was found to have no compression at all! in fact even with the plugs in the engine turned over by hand using the crank
so we source another engine, minus head and cams and the work begins to refit everything. so far its getting there, but it was found that a pulley was missing.
the engine will be serviced, new cambelt kit. and then hopefully a working engine!
its standard, but for the wheels off my other vec estate which are painted tvr silver. double d back box, facelift lights, white led interior, tinted b pillar back windows.
orginally i was going to sell it once its fixed, but now due to getting made redundant and loosing my company wheels, i may keep it for a while as my other vec is a bit of a project heading for some engine mods, so i like ot keep it as a second car. so this gsi may just fil the hole while i get another job, or another company car.
i'll get some more up when theres more to tell. hopefully we'll get the missing pulley tuesday and then may have some more progress!
