My mk4 Astra Van

Hi guys

Just thought I'd post up a pic of my astra van.

Current mods are the lights, irmscher front, FK coilovers and rims. I'm also fitting a chunk of ICE too. Its used for my DJ business and as such the stereo is gonna have to be removeable, well the subs at least.

I'm also after an irmscher twin backbox at the moment if anyones got one going.....

Cheers

Opinions so far (good or bad) and suggestions for other stuff please!!

Chris

Looks nice as is, you should color code the side skirts and door strips

Re: My mk4 Astra Van

Cheers guys

Colour coding is a good suggestion. The rear bumper is still black and needs painting, I can't decide whether to do the skirts and the rub strips though. One day I think they match the wheels, the next day I think I want them colour coded.

I'll post up some pics of the install progress. Won't be anything too fancy as the van has to transport me to gigs, but I'll be fitting an RE Se sub and hefty amp. Its already got a JVC DVD heas unit and some components.

Re: My mk4 Astra Van

Quick update on the ICE front

Built this box....

For this daddy to go in.....

Not decided on an amp yet. If anyone can suggest an amp that would fit under the drivers seat that gives around 800w (rms) then please do!

I have a plan to make the system full on stealth, but it means the amp under the seat....

Re: My mk4 Astra Van

Yeah its a heavy mutha.

RE SE's (like that one) are (arguably) one of the best all round subs on the market. They do big spl, decent sq and are ideal for a bit of streetbass action, which is what I've built my box to do. The box is tuned to 32hz and should allow the sub to be pretty musical, but also drop deep.

I'm stuck on an amp though. I was planning to use the inphase IPA 2400 one I have, but its far too big to go under the drivers seat which is where I want to put it. I need a nice small class D one I think.

The amp can take over 1000 real watts, and I don't theres many amps out there that can do that with a small footprint.
