New to MIG should of joined along time ago seen as i mainly ever have vauxhalls any way here is my little nova project iv started also on PNG il post up what iv already put up on there hope you dont mind it will be copy n pasted

How she stud at YMS,





This is how she stands as of today,

The bay, dont look to clean :cry:


The plans are to strip it out remove as much as possible and see were i stand condition wise and sort out any major problems and afew bits of rust.
My main goal is to have,

• Wide kit and be light as possible replace as many body parts with fibreglass or (if i can find the funds) afew carbon parts
• Strip it out, if its not needed then its not staying.
• Roll cage
• Bucket seats,belts
• Polycarbonate windows (full set)
• 16 Inch soft stars or maybe comp mo's in white

Then start to think about the engine, do i go redtop or c20LET
Im sure along the way il add to my list or change my mind as you do

just a small update, didn't have much time today but made a start on removing a few bits from there rear,
was bit of a mess :roll:

well still abit of a mess, need to remove the glue and tar like crap.

needs abit chopping out and a plate welding in the corner


hopefully i will have bit more time during the weekend to remove more and have abit of a clean up and a sand down.

Well the weather was not on my side today but did what i could,
i removed front seats


then removed all the sound deadening and door cards aswell as wires/stereo and tv's



now for the bad bits

thinking about cutting the spare wheel area out and plate it up.

who ever did this area clearly did not master the age old art of silicone welding lol

and a plate some one has bodged in at somepoint in its life. cutting that out for sure.

next is to remove the dash at somepoint, then cut out all the rust areas start from fresh have a tidy up treat afew areas and give it a lick of paint.

Sorry to butt in, just wanted to ask how you got rid of the sound deadning under the rear seats? I've stripped mine off and its left that black tar stuff which you can see in your pictures in the front footwells.

You use thinners, rags and lots of time!

Bit of an up date, had bit of spare time so went and got 2ftx4ft sheet metal £12, meter and half of tubing £5.



got to work cutting out all seat brackets and center bit





cut down the tubing for rear strut brace so ready for welding





plated up the holes only tacked and bonded on and smoothed over just needs sanding

welded in the rear strut brace, smoothed and sand the areas i cut brackets from so almost ready for bit of paint





wont flud with pictures of were iv smoothed and sand down you all know what it looks like, will take picture of inside when i slap some paint on hopefully tomorrow but other than a roll cage insides about there for now apart from chopping my doors up :lol:

i gave the rear and rear strut a lick of paint





also the wheels





then painted and fitted front strut brace



made a start on cutting the doors but weather really was getting bad so gave up lol



rear needs another coat of paint and also need to finish cutting and tidy up the doors,

cut out so i could fit front without making to much mess, can fit vents back even speaker covers with bit of modding.

received my 6 point harness and helmet net today and managed to get all polycarb windows fitted (apart from driver door) plumbed in alloy tank to get her running will probably get some pictures tomorrow.

also due to rust at front end mainly im going to look into spaceframe or semi space frame as im also wanting propa cage anyway,

any ideas ???

Small update, due to the shell been way to far gone to save (few years worth of abuse and then left for while) i went on the look out for a better shell, along came colin (novarally) to the rescue,

basically how i got it after i removed a few parts (bonnet, boot, windows and bumpers)








Then started putting some parts on off the other,

















sorry about the pictures had to use the phone,

next on the list

engines (i have c14se and x16xe with all the bits ready to go) or get c20xe
suspension/coilovers
fiberglass doors or skins
bit of body work get things fitting a little better and then painting.

Good work. Probably not a bad idea to re-shell at this stage. The amount of work that will go into it leaves you sort of "stuck" with the shell you started with.

i was getting stuff like panels ready to do but after cutting out alot of the front was worse than thought, i just cant seem to make up my mind on engine as i want to be out in it sometime this year.
