12k mile mk 1 nova C20let Project!!

well after breaking my corsa turbo my brother decided to buy the engine off me and put it into a nova!

the search was on

it had to be clean, mrk1 , good shell, and for the right money

i had a test from kev bradford saying he had a 12k mile nova a price ws agreed and a date set for collection!

a long drive up from south wales to north wales and i was now the owener of a very very clean 12k mrk 1 nova i couldnt believe how clean it actually was but it is genuine never been painted full service history up to 2006 when kev tyook it off road last service was 11k miles

it had done 15miles in 2-3 years i had it doing 154, suprisingly it broke down nothing major just fuel pipe perrished, rac man came out and replaced the hose from the tank to the fuel lines, and away we went, rear brakes decided radaomly to come on

but we got home and now the project can begin

it will be chargecooled here are some parts i have collected so far

equal length shafts

chassis plating kit

f28 mount

engine mount s

hubs

200sx manifold is being welded with a t3 flange and c2oxe/let exhaust flange, a 2wd saph cossie turbo will be used as the kkk's dont last long when pused more than 280bhp

only going to for a steddy 300bhp but hopefully should be good fun and very driveable

Engine cam out of my brothers corsa Turbo Ran 299bhp 312ft lbs @ 18psi back in november 07 (before new hybrid kkk ate itself)

hopefully have it running on phase 2 for a few miles sort out any issues then upgrade and fit omex 600

Looks very clean and orignal, almost a shame to chop it about. Good luck with the build.

yes mate it seems only keith r is allowed to strip a mint std nova, no body else is

the rad above is the engine rad the chargecooler rad is similar dimensions will cope with 450bhp built by ah fabrications in hereford

Re: 12k mile mk 1 nova C20let Project!!

I'm just concerned whether you'll get it in with the fan placed on the right like that. This is the clearance on a std kkk manifold.

You might have been better with one large one on the left, is more than enough for a nova especially with an ally rad that more efficient anyways.

Also, any reason why you went for the fixed top mounts not adjustable? Not much difference in price.

i wont be doing too much adjustment mate tbh it will be a road car mainly so i just wanted to get rid of the rubber mounts! and i ve found on previous builds i never hardly adjusted the mounts even when i had the facility to. just personal preference really!

nice project mate, I wouldnt have to much sentiment for a 1.0 Nova either, or pretty much any other base model Vaux. it looks so clean its incredible, get stuck into it!

Re: 12k mile mk 1 nova C20let Project!!

Great spec you are aiming for there.
Is that Nortech manifold not a LEt one then? (seeing as you have a head flange pictured elsewhere)

I envy you for getting a clean shell though, not easy to come by around here, though I wouldnt pay over £200 tbh !!

Well said. Vauxhall heritage have got a poverty spec car, theres 1 or 2 other clean poverty spec cars owned within the Nova clubs, its all we'll ever need.
