Mk2 Nova 1.2i Fun!

Thought i would finaly start a project thread here. This is my 2nd nova, My other is a longer ongoing Mk1 1.4 turbo project.

The nova came from Liamgsi on here for the sum of £120, No tax or test but a true rust free nova. Got there to find that it was seized, i knew it was a non runner, anyways trailerd it home with no problems.

After wipping out the plugs and spraying WD-40 down the bores and a bit of rocking backwards and forwards it was freed. Connected it all back up and it didnt start. Hmmm! Turned out no fuel was getting into the throttle body. Pulled off the fuel hose and stuck it into a plastic bottle, after a short time i noticed it was two different colours. Oops. Water.

After emptying out the fuel, and changing the oil (which also seemed to have water in) It fired up, No knocks not even much tapping!

Anyways Pictures!

Power plant.

Clean interior

Dents here and there (from the old people who used to own it apprently.

Clean rust free inner wings

But for all the talk of rust free it had some.
Rear arch (Now sorted)

Front splash guard

Finished:

More rust sorted (no before picture)

Front panel clean as i expected:

At this point i was happy with the car, so i set on cleaning it all:

Cleaner engine bay, its not great at this point but its not a show car

Polished and black bumpers, Plus new number plates.

Mint wheel trims that i bought, Im now refurbing them one by one.

Although not finished i have been rust proofing the inner front arches:

A couple of weeks ago now it passed the Mot 1st time. Although before the mot i replaced the cv boots, drivers side steering ball joint and brake pads.

At the end of the month i will be taxing it and it will be used as a second car.

Comments please.

Thanks.

Plans now are to fit a GSI spoiler, sort a rear parcel shelf and possibly a GSI front bumper.
