| Re: my first ever corsa xe project yes mate a meant rollers, basically fit the full belt kit not just the belt, as rodgerq said do the water pump now aswell.
dont worry about the shafts yet, just fit the ones you have to get it running and driving, just dont stomp on the fast pedal just yet. ive read in TV of a guy running a 160ish bhp 16xe in a nova on 1.2 shafts with no worries.
we wanna see xe in the engine bay shots by sunday night, please?
p.s. how come a nice shiney engine and manky g/box?

| Re: my first ever corsa xe project well today was 1 hell of a busy day i removed the corsa's 1.4 8v engine in a record time for me in 2hrs with a half an hour tea break (got av 1)
so firts started this morning with 1 of life's vital nessaties a nice brew with 2 sugers
so then started to remove all the hoses and petrol feed pipes
removed the radiator, and when just followed all other pipes that needed to be unbolted
got the car jacked up high to get underneath for the exhaust
then next was to remove the drive shafts that when i encountered a problem on the drivers side it siezed in the hub and wouldnt budge!!!so i replaced the hub nut and gave it a right hammering/ but gave it to hard as i pushed the hubnut right over the threads so now its stuck only way for me to remove it is with some hot gas ie oxy/aseteline bottles fcuk knows where im gunna get that from!! will have to think on this how to get it off the hub???
so anyways i got the drive shafts off the gearbox and unbolted the engine mounts and gearbox mounts and begun to lifted out and POP!!!! out it came infact it was too easy but im right proud of ma sen as its the first time ive ever took out an engine with out any help from my mates and now just gunna give the bay a clean up and but ive noticed that the rear g/box mount is different to the 1 on the f20 so me is thinking it might not fit???
also i took off the bottom arms and gave them a brush over with the wirebrush and sprayed up in black as you can see
anyways pics: |

| Re: my first ever corsa xe project 2 1/2 hrs to unbolt an engine aint bad fella, my best is an hour with a hacksaw, snips and a big hammer.
i put my 8v in/out from underneath, it looked easier and less likely to scratch my nice new paint, but i did have a 5t crane in work. made it sooo easy.
got ya with the gear box, trial fit.
its looking good so far, just hope the engine fits in well. |

| Re: my first ever corsa xe project well didnt do too much today as daughter wasnt well and had to wait for girlfriend to comes home but i removed the rear box mount from the corsa engine and cleaned up to fit to my f20 and as per my luck it didnt fit so im now awaiting the arrival of my spacer kit from chris astley(rallyman) ata nice cost of £26
so i primed it and painted black awaiting to be fitted
and i removed the f20 from the xe block and degreased and primed up and painted in a bright silver looks brilliant with the black engine block but i noticed that with the front gear box mount sprayed in vauxhall silver it didnt really go so i primed up and sprayd in gloss black and re-connected to the f20 and the colour scheme is really looking great now for the engine the car is in red but im thinking of getting resprayed in gsi silver/grey or shud i get it redone in red? who knows all depends on money but im thinking that in total im giving mysel a year to get the car fully done and road legal as i dont need alloys as ive got 2 sets 1 off the doner calibra ond 17" 5 spoke but i think for speed in will go for the calibra alloys
so anyways here are the pics: |
