| Re: mk3 astra gsi restoration well the welding is now all finished!! its solid at last. prob is i didnt take many pictures cos i had lost my camera, basically its had all the patches an holes in boot floor done, new sills, new arches, new inner arches, new corner fittings on the rear valance and a couple more here an there. now all the welding is done its everything else to do and im struggling at the min trying to pop rivet the sills for the brackets for the skirts as i dont know where they go. its now all seam sealed and the bare metal is painted red oxide heres a few piks
the front stripped down and the cross member cleaned de rusted an painted
the arch welded on
plates welded in and seam sealed
corner piece welded on and all plates behind it made and welded
just a little bit of filler work on drivers side to see how much filling work its gonna take lol
out of the unit after welding, quick dust down and rattle can bare arch just for now |

| Re: mk3 astra gsi restoration i know, same as me, exactly why i wanted to do it. could of broke it at any time and to be honest there was many times during the last 7 weeks where i av nearly given up lol but now its solid so im half way there, need to get it sprayed now (dont wanna be chasing the rust round lol) well after ive figured out where to pop rivet the sill and the back bumper not quite fitting back properly so gotta sort that too |
