will def be a red top goin in, im wantin about 200bhp ideally...
decided on my interior colour scheme, black and st orange.unfortunately i have to keep the rear seats for a while as i have a baby on way, but may well custom fabricate a baby seat mount into the cage so seats can go....if its even possible?! we will see!
brake drums and calipers will be st orange too, along with any bits i decide to paint up under the bonnet...
finally got my haynes manual and rocker cover gaskets so thats bein done tomo dependant on the weather! |

| Re: my corsa sport (slug) did the rocker cover gaskets today, what a bitch of a job! lol well it was to an amatuer like me,but its all done now, have cleaned the block off a bit with the jetwash so hopefully when i take her for a blast tomo, there will be no more oil leaks!
spark plugs are literally drowning in oil, but i dont have a spark plug removal tool so they will just have to stay like that until i get one. anyone tell me what size i need? or if i can get them out any other way??
and if anyone has any ideas on how to quiten down noisy tappets it would be much appreciated!
think il do a full oil and filter change when get the chance next week, everything else is on hold at the mo unfortunately! |

| Re: my corsa sport (slug) i had a 100bhp 1.4 in my old nova and it flew, 150 bhp is plenty, to begin with. if its still RELLY noisy at high revs i would sujest not ragging it til you find out why. im not taking the mick but seriously low oil causes noisey tappets, very noisey engine being raged causes big bang as something lets go, time for the red top........every cloud, silver lining etc etc etc

| Re: my corsa sport (slug) to be honest mate i think the car was seriously neglected by the previous owner(woman lol) and probably the one b4 her too. oil levels have been maintained since iv had it, but it seriously needs an oil change and new filter. the old ones been on there so long its rusting!
my mechanic said it was just the tappets, but like you said, the sooner this engine dies, the sooner i have to replace it! |

| Re: my corsa sport (slug) if you want it to blow just give me a call, i know a few tricks to kill an engine my favourite goes like this, get a mate to red line the engine, wait 20secs if you dont hear a cry for help (i never do the engine is too loud) take a sledge hammer and belt the cam pulleys sideways, after some metal on metal action the engine is dead and ready for the bin, doing this to metros is my favourite.
but wait until you have all the redtop bits coz walking to collect them isnt fun.
p.s. my doc says i have issues, i dont know what he means....ha ha ha ha ha
p.p.s. dont try this at home, if you do its not my fault you get hurt.......thats the law suits covered. |

| Re: my corsa sport (slug) done the sparks so no longer drowning in oil, reckon i could do with new plugs and leads tho...recommendations any1?
and done oil an filter today too, tappets not quitened down at all, but at least she's running properly!
also sorted fresh coolant today too, jus the fuel filter to change now and she's pretty much had a service!
removed the ****ty chicken wire black mesh that was in the grille, gonna get some decent mesh and spray it up...not sure whether to go subtle with black, or in your face with ST orange??? brake drums and calipers are gna be same colour, so do i go sleeper style and do it all black? im leanin more that way to be honest but let me know what you think! |

| Re: my corsa sport (slug) there was a stage bout 7 years ago where a saw several dark green rover 200s with bright orange grills/mirrors, its a taste thing i guess, i preffer subtle, street sleeper seams to be the way ahead at the moment but its your car.
just a little thought tho, IF it breaks down and has st orange all over all your mates will see it on the back of the breakdown truck.... |

| Re: my corsa sport (slug) lol yeah ive seen a few show cars with bright orange mirrors/wheels etc and if done properly it can look quite good, but i think your right, gonna go sleeper and do it all black...then i jus need a proper engine to make it a real street sleeper lol |
