| Corsa turbo build Hopfully tomorrow morning all been well i will be taking delivery of my new project shell.
This is going to be everything the nova should have been and more!
I have just bought a W reg corsa sport rolling shell in Ardent blue with looms, a half dash, some XE bits and not a lot else! Its got astra gte brakes on and a few other bits but its perfect for what i want from a shell. Its got no sunroof which is spot on and a XE mounts.
I will be buying a weld in cage, some polycarbonate windows and a few other bits. Then i just need to decided if i should fit the novas LET in it or a stock LET on phase 2 and have some track day fun.
Pics tomorrow or later on if photobucket starts working.

| Re: Corsa turbo build Really, it's great news if you do go stripped out and what not. Also, I do really like the super 1600 corsa's - go on, you know you want to (With the bodywork I mean!)

| Re: Corsa turbo build Staying within the confines of the stock corsa arches i think Brian, but i will see. Thats the plan at the minute. Once i recieve the shell i will have a better idea. One thing i am going to do is set myself a clear target for what the car is for and how it is going to end up.
Before people moan and bitch at me i just could not bring myself to start cutting up the nova shell. Its to good for me to go arsing around with and i feel i need a fresh start on a newer shell. |

| Re: Corsa turbo build lol, I wouldn't bother with what other people think. It's a bit of a mission going the super 1600 look tbh so that's understandable. Because of the work involved in my Manta shell, I would certainly start with a much more modern shell in any future project. Good luck with it. |

Far too easy to get carried away and build something thats not actually much good at anything (talking about my own nova as much as yours here, so dont take that as an insult!) |

| Re: Corsa turbo build Nova was one week going one way, next week the other then ended up right in the middle. A ****ing road car with a stupid engine, full interior and a cage and stupid wheels to cover equally stupid sized brakes.
This is going to be light, stripped, no bufftying with paintwork on the outside, will spray inside myself and never see a wheel bigger than a 16" if that.
Less is more. |

| Re: Corsa turbo build 100% the right way to be going.
Some of us from VauxSport.com are booked onto donno on december the 29th, do you reckon you could have it track ready by then on a basic engine? |

| Re: Corsa turbo build personally Id be going for putting the novas engine and suspension into the corsa with a full cage, 285 wilwoods, 15s and some decent shell prep and then use that as a track car.
Drop an evo 5 let and some gaz coilovers into the nova as a fun shiney quick road car for sunny afternoons!
in the meantime however, leave the nova engine where it is till its mapped and proven reliable, and get the stock let into the corsa in time for the trackday on the 29th :P

I had a cavalier turbo with 300+ bhp and it was reliable on phase 2 chips, then i went for fancy ecu etc and i fell out of love with it
Now i have a stripped corsa valver and its the most fun ever, getting abused all the time and its not let me down yet(touch wood).
Doing my 2nd trackday on sunday, they are really addictive tho |

| Re: Corsa turbo build yep, the track increase just makes it feel far more stable. allied with the fact that nove knuckes fit and the height of the steering arms rids you of most of your bump steer from lowering, big block equal length shafts drop right in, the gear shifter actually works, then engine goes in with all of the car still intact, the rear arches have more room in them, the steering wheel sits straight.... |

I completely agree with all that, its just that its a bubbly corsa. It reminds me too much of the bubble Nissan Micra sadly |

| Re: Corsa turbo build Let on ph2 sounds well, just chuck it in.
Got to agree on the nova vs corsa shell statements, Corsa shell is just much more solid and rigid, and newer=less rust.
Its just a shame they dont look cool at all
Although a stripped track corsa is very cool |
