corsa let rebuild

seeing as how its melted a piston after a month of being running im going to rebuild it to a higher spec, looking for a round 400bhp but well see how it goes. going for 87mm omega pistons with steel rods t34 turbo with external wategate xe cams solid lifters etc and dta managment and a quaife diff with equal length shafts to help put it to the road

pic of car before it died

melted piston

engine stripdown

damage to bore

block is scrap so getting another block tomorrow so can get that bored to 87mm and start ordering bits

just had crank back from regrind will get pics up tomoz, hopefully will be running and mapped before the end of the year

Re: corsa let rebuild

you'll be suprised how many people are going for the old gm hosuings/pumps now.

the quality of the pump gears on new ones are good, but castings are poor.

+ why spend more money to say you've got a zlet pump, when an SBD one is as good? doesnt really make sense

Re: corsa let rebuild

had my block bored and finished to 87mm now and decided to give it a lick of paint

also had my morrettes painted and removed and meshed the inner lamps to get plenty of cool air in there once its back on the road, also finished smoothing and painting my bumper, hoping to get the solid lifters shims and double valve springs this week to get head built then i can order pistons and gaskets to build the bottom end
