Mini - Now c20xe build

missus dropped round my heat wrap and stainless ties i ordered but got delivered to hers is 5meters of 50mm enough to do a Xe manifold ???



also these are the duez fasteners I'm going to mount the front end on with at the rear of it and just some simple ally bar at the front .and my wilwood brake adjuster as it weights loads at the front and nothing at the back I'm going to want to play around with the brakes at the back to stop it whipping round which is exaggerated by the small wheel base of a mini .




heres a pic of the cbr bodies these taper from 78 mm have a butterfly of 45mm and exit the head side at just over 42mm

split in to pairs and spaced out the port spacings are pukka

Taper Throttles kit are made up from 4 single bodies (on a 4 cylinder engine) which is 66mm long tapering from a 48mm diameter hole at the ram pipe end down to 42.7mms at the manifold face, with a 45mm butterfly in the middle.

heres the mbe 956 management but will proberly upgrade to somthing newer when ive got a good bit of spare cash



and here is the bike injectors but i plan on using the vauxhall injectors still in the vauxhall manifold so can anybody make me some ally lugs to fit in the injector holes to blank them off if i send them a injector

just finished modding my manifold slightly to bring primary's 2 and 3 closer to 1 and 4 to give me a little bit more space i didn't want to cut it at the top and compromise the smooth bends and flow will get pics up just about to start wrapping

this is how i modded the exhaust so that the manifold still had a nice exhaust bend so flow was not disturbed at all in this picture notice the gap between the pipes when the go from 4 too 2 this was what i aimed to remove



a quick and easy chop on the bottom of the manifold

then i used this specialist butane grill to heat the manifold so it was hot enough to bend




calm down i was taking the piss lmaolmaolmao


this is how close i got the manifold so ive gained at least a inch and a half loads when space is that tight



i then welded back in the peice i cut out took ages to get it to a shape where it wasnt going to have a nasty angle and affect flow





i got some really nice welds today but chose to grind them off as i wanted to check nothing was going to leak before i heat wrapped it

a shot of paint as i didnt use stainless wire lol




and just waiting for batteries to charge to get a pic of it wrapped

rite this is the inlet i had made up to fit the bike throttle bodies but the bloke who welded it didn't really understand what i had in mind or why you can have a massive step in a inlet but for £40.00 I'm not that fussed im sure it can be sorted . this is what it was like when i got it back






after a bit of porting but still not happy still a small step were the old meets new and don't really want to start eating into his weld too much

seen it had this horrible pot flywheel on it that was first off


loads clutch dust in there but a nearly spanking new clutch ??

i then took off the cam belt and cams as it need new lifters but i had a set from a previous rebuild and never fitted them


then thought id have a look in the oil breather for some strange reason and spotted these

rite update time
so far i have nearly finished modding my sub frame and bulkhead for the red top all that is left to do is finish my alternator mount and front cross member . i have also welded up the hole around the gearstick .have been tidying up the new engine i bought for 80 quid Ive fitted it with a single v pulley and a new clutch . i then removed all of the hydraulic lifters and soaked them in petrol to get all the crap out and have chosen to change 3 as the are slightly sticky so hopefully no tapping

Ive fitted a 8v sump pick up and modified the baffle plate so i can fit the smaller 8v sump
just waiting on getting the smaller 8v sump bolts .

. the sub frame is completely stripped down so i can finish off the welding and get the whole thing shot blasted and powder coated including all of the mounts and begin rebuilding all of the hub Assembly . Ive now got adjustable tie rods and bottom arms .and plan on turreting the rear arches very soon and linking this to my roll cage .
i have also seam welded all of the sub frame and put linking welds between gaps were ever i can not that i am worried about the frame strength in any way as i gave my 2.0 8v hell but to eliminate and movement my frame mite have as the engine is heaver and i plan on giving it lots of abuse at track days and i cant imagine if the engine did move slightly this being any good for handling . hope all this work pays off and it is a good bit quicker than my old 8ver

Am i right in thinking the nice new clutch isn't compatible with the flat flywheel..?

Looks like ARP rods bolts to me too

yeah i knew the kid selling it well he also has my frame but with a 8v in it lol very very nice car tho

the clutch and bottom pulley and flywhell i bought to put on it so it should be lol just come in from the rain but have got my bottom crossmember finished so just the altenator to do


seen a tool a whisle back for aligning the altenator with a strap on laser but cant fingd one anywere

ye my dad was driving it late at night to fetch a friend and plowed into a still car that broke down on the highway. spent 3 months asleep after that!!

They were racing hart concept 13's dont remember the name of them though

good price mate i need one tooo badly my toes felt like they were about to drop off eraler it was pissing it down

today i cleaned up and primed and painted my gearbox loved the look of the ally but kept oxidizing and don't like the yellowy look you get when you lacker ally so it was primed painted silver and lacquered looks alright i suppose




then i got my frame shot blasted and gave it a good coat of red oxide primer to stop and corrosion


and painted and lacquered it in a nice red to match the roll cage





if i wasn't away with the missus this week id start building up the frame and suspension that will all be rebuilt and start to rebuild the engine properly


should look good black inside and engine bay with red detailing and I'm properly gonna go vauxhall glacier white with a black roof black arches and black wheels what you guys think ????

got loads done over the weekend so i thought id update

torqued up the flywheel and fitted the new clutch


then fitted the dummy shaft and heater hoses and fitted the rear engine mount ,as i cant get to any of it with the engine in lol

started rebuilding all of my frames suspension as you can do it with the engine in either fitted new roller bearings and poly bushes every were
and fitted adjustable tie rods and adjustable bottom arms so i can play with camber etc so all new hear should make for no play from the suspension when driving it hard :-) only thing not replaced was the bump stops and top arm pin as they were really good and the top arms were brand new when the frame was built and still pukka .
