thought id update you all on my progress been on the road a whisle now .i plan on stripping the engine back out and putting in a higher compression seh lump i have my cam now and a ported and pilished head im waiting to get hold of a lightened flywheel (anyone lol )i want to redo all my fuel lines and rewire the entire car

big update car is being gutted and a xe goin in it on r1 carbs
ive started collecting bits recently for the changeover to 16v
so far i got the r1 carbs taaa da
attaced them to a manifold that is a cast item from bp autograssing and cheaper that brogg bros
sprayed up my rocker cover the same coluor as the car , from the xe engine i bought
i then got myself a 1.8 dizzy but still need the wiring conector to wire it upissedoff:

today i recived my clubman 2 peice fiberglass front from ABS
ive also got myself a f18 wr box but the diff ratio is 394 is this the ratio i needed
all i need now is a modified pedal box and a clutch and the engine can start goin in
man my bank balance has taken a battering haha
Jesus man!, just started reading this thread, I was gonna say, I can see why you went for the 8v as it fits, but now, i dont know, Will be awesome with the 16V, is that a fiberglass GT front end?, reminds me of my scalextric days, I love the look of that, one of the nicest ones IMO, The 16V will be mean in that, Good luck with it all![]()

why 16v though?? only 20hp more than the SEH and a ****load more difficult getting it to fit. The seh is about 15kg's lighter up top too![]()

my 8v cammed engine was still slower that a xe corsa after 3rd gear and i cant have that lol
yeah im not to fond of the clubby front either but hate extended roundnose front even more
got my gearbox all cleaned up all mounts repainted and am just waiting on my clutch now ill gte some pics up later

nice to see how it fits in the mini subframe
its a mini subframe base but seriously modified to take vaux lump
but the beauty of this frame is it still keeps all mini suspension components and geometry so i still have a good handling car![]()

its a F18 wr wit a 394 diff ratio hopefully this will be better ratios with the 13 inch wheels as my old box was a f16 cr and was stupidly high reving

it was dalm tight lol
got myself some nice allen key bolts for the bottom of my r1 carbs as the cross heads in there were ****ty and stripped
bit of bling lol
and for you neil105 this is it sitting in the frame but just the 8v this was when the first engine was in there getting the manifold done
