| corsa 2.0 track project found this corsa on ebay was only in barry, wales. it was a non runner. he said it over fuels and floods. but when i got there it didnt even start. but it looked clean enough and had all the proper driveshafts and mounts so if all fails stick a 2.0 8v in it.
Quick phone call to the AA saying ive broke down and pushed it round the corner and within the hour i was on the back of a tow truck on route home! happy days
Spec:

Chipped ECU
Full stainless scorpion exhaust

Piper Cams (waiting for delivery jonlem! lol)
256mm discs up front

| Re: corsa 2.0 track project got home that day started ripping apart the wiring as there was no spark. Only to find that the drivers side footwell was soaking wet. as was the ecu and fuel pump relay. The loom had seen better days. So i bought ecu + loom off the bay. £30. bargain.
Turned the key and started first time. But it was running like a bag of ****e. wouldnt hold tick over ecu light on. miss firin real bad.
Anyway the fault turned out to be the injectors. £20
Sold the alloys for £170!!!!

| Re: corsa 2.0 track project Looks like you got a bargain there,
always good to buy a cheap car then sell something off it to make even cheaper,
i just missed out on a phase2 vectra gsi i could have used free after selling the goodies.
odd choice on alloys though as you can only keep the little brakes??

Drilling holes with a hole saw where the number plate recess is. Yes i already have an oil cooler just in front of the rad.
288mm front discs from a fiat 20v (4 stud) and v6 calipers iirc.

| Re: corsa 2.0 track project Few updates today. My car was idleing at 2000rpm permanently even when hot. i went down scrappy and got an ICV off a frontera. gave it a clean with carb cleaner. Problem solved.
Fitted my new steering column aswell which was a bit of a bastard.
With that sorted ive started to strip it out. Started on the back today, think im gonna keep the dash and front carpet and loose everything else. Phoned acw motorsport plastics this morning for my perspex windows £189 for the whole kit. Bargain.

| Re: corsa 2.0 track project Got the waxoyl out aswell did all the arches and underneath. Suprisingly the car is solid. Not rot anywhere. Its had a plate welded in the left hand arch but thats it. All sills and chassis rails are spotless.
Been looking on ebay for a set of seats. Ive had a pair of cobra monaco's before and the seat position is perfect. Corbeau forza's are to upright imo. Got a set of harnesses just waiting for them to arrive.

The cavalier gsi wheels, pictured above, are 195/50/15. This means i can also fit the v6 brakes. |
