Cheers vxlgsi - im sure she'll come round to a sorted Corsa C!!! lol
No worries Rick. Ive just found my carmera so ill get some progres pics up soon - Theres nowt much mind
Rob
Right then,
Started to sort out my engine mounts in preperation for fitting the engine and box.
The rear mount has been welded for strength. I also bought the F20 conversion kit of ebay which, with a little grinding, fits a treat.
The other gearbox mount is a Harry Hockly mount for fitting a F20 into a Corsa when using a Group A solid mount.
The engine mount is just a fabricated mount to fit a 1600 16v in a corsa with a solid mount bolted to the car.

Ive also fitted the in-car extingusher
Veiw under the dash

Any progress is good progress

Lovely car Robert and nice build.
You are using the same extingushier system I use.
I would say that you need to check you can reach the pull handle when you're fully strapped in (upside down, with the engine still reving to 8k etc etc) lmao.
Don't wanna be doing one of them 'hollywood movie' type of moments where you can almost but not quite get your fingertips to it as the flames are starting to warm you feet up....
Same with the kill switch.
I was quite surprised how close I had to mount mine the in cav to ensure I could get to it.
Lovely car though and I'm sure it's gonna be a lot of smiles.
Thanks Giles,
its only a little corsa so even when the co driver's seat is a far back as it goes you can still reach it - i had it in the same place in my nova and it was 'just' ok.
Plus theres no where else i can see i could put it.
where did you put yours?
thanks
Rob
Ah that's ok then.
I've lost count of the number of 'great ideas' I've had on mounting things and only to find a serious flaw after I've done it. lmao
You obviously think it through a bit more than me.
I made up a rather nice bracket that put mine down next to the centre consol on the drivers side of the tunnel (hard to describe).
The cav is a road/track car so seat position is adjustable back and forth so needed it where a shortie or a tallie could get to it.
It was one of those things that turned out real well for just 5 mins 'dodging'. Infact it looks factory.
now all you need to do is remember to remove the safety pin huh gills?lmaolmao

lmao
I think I did remove it on one lap of the 'ring.
Actual - nope don't think I did.
lmao
That would have made a great youtube video if it had gone wrong and caught alight.
i remember you opening the boot just before we went back to the hotel and going 'hmm, perhaps i should have removed this before going out on track'lmaolmao

Yeah, if you look at the dash picture theres a little reminder where the air vent used to be!!lmao

People are trying to talk me into fitting a kit car kit like your car has to my corsa.
Back in the scene
They do look the nuts Rick! The cheapest place for the kit ive found is Pro-tec.
The only problem ive found is the back wheel cant tuck under the arch as there is no lip so it gives the impression its riding high (if you know what i mean). I think you do need to run widetrack aswel so the wheels fill the arches otherwise it dont look right.
I have a pic somewhere of the kit with standard track if you interested?
cheers
rob
not rating the red one...well bumper anyway, but function over form.
i recognise the yellow corsa, but not sure where from
i quite liked the idea of the a.g. motorsport wide arch kit, but change of plans with corsa means im not going to buy one.
when we going to see some more pics of yours?![]()
