tbh i’m not convinced a ‘clicky’ box changes gear much faster than my dog box, might take the thinking out of it, but thats about it for me, nice if you can afford it though

I'll try mate, but I'm no Seb Loeb so I'm sure it'll come back with a few battle scars! Lol
Love the box mate, it's only thing the car wants but can't afford it at the moment! Which is a total shame as these sadevs don't come up second at all!!
Maybe next time!
Are you def breaking?
If I ain't earning it - I'm spending it!!
Not sure what the hell im doing to be honest Rob, change my mind pretty much every hour at the min :-)
Just to add ref clicky box it really does depend on the venue and type of rally, Crail just wasnt fun at all but the Clark on closed roads was the best drive ive ever had in a car made totally by the box.
hey
do you have foto of the gearbox fitting bracket behind the diff
Car looks really nice Rob; shame there isn't a bonnet on it
We'll get some proper HD videos when we do your shoot![]()

Right, got the car back. Few problems with bottom arms but a bit of callafudging and then now have enough movment for the right adjustment.
Got a rally in 7 days now so need to pull my finger out and fix all the little problems for MOT on Monday.
In the mean time i decided to start this
The Rally ive entered is the Richard Burns Memorial rally on the 14th/15th Aug at RAF Marham in Norfolk - cant wait now. Im sure a few days the nerves will start.
Hopefully it'll be a positive weekend and ill have some in-car footage.

Hi Rob,
I run a Corsamaxi, that I built in 2000 for the BTRDA, it would be good to catch up on the RBMR, I am running car 22. Yours looks great, I might just take a peek and see what ideas I can pinch!
rob if your car goes even half as well as it looks you'll onto a winner. cant wait to see some pictures of it being used in anger!
good luck mate, looking forward to the report!!

No doubt Rob will be along shortly, car looks superb but he was having a few teething problems. We think it maybe fuel starvation but im sure he will get it sorted.
Well, were to start.
Firstly a huge thanks to the service lads! I kept them busy all weekend (sorry - hopefully it'll be easier next time).
Stage one - went out feeling very nervous, the plan was just to settle in. About half way through the temp went upto 105 so backed off a little and it started dropping. Then came out of a square right - floored it...........and nothing then something then nothing. Carried on like this until the end of the stage.
Into service and it was decided to brim the tank and hopefully cure the problem.
it was also notice the rear Proflex canisters were banging on the spare wheel well under compression. Unfortunately one had lost its pipe along with all its oil and gas.
Stage two - Feeling a bit more confident in the car and myself. The first half was fantastic - we were going very well. Got passed two cars and was gaining on a third when the temp raised to 111 so backed off again and limped to the end!!!!!
Into service and took thermostat out cut a big hole in the front bumper. Then we noticed on the back of the inlet manifold where the pipe would go to the heater matrix (i'd looped it back into the water pipe and back of engine) was kinked. Found another hose and made it fit.
Stage three - Filled the car up with as much fuel as it would take.
Off the start line and all was well until about half way - the revs were dropping off. First to 7k then 4k. So finished the stage reving to 4k and shifting.
We then thought we'd just finish the day so into service and a quick look over. The plan for stage 4 and the last stage of the day was if the car played up we'd take the quickest splits to the end of the stage and take a stage maximum.
Stage 4 - All was well until about 2ish miles from end and it would not rev at all. Pulled up, got the bonnet up but couldnt see anything obvious so started the car back up and it was fine. Jumped back in set off. Next corner......................burrrrr - NOTHING!!! ~Arrrr! Limped to the end and into service. On the plus there was now no overheating so we put the stat back in.
Next morning the car still ran so i thought we'd just keep going as far as we could.
Stage 5 and 6 was pretty much the same but starting earlier in the stage so once back in service we decided to call it a day as i didn't want to cause damage to the engine with under fuelling.
Overall a little disappointing but there are loads of positives to take home. When the car was working it was working very very well and im happy with that.
Im sure this problem is something to do with the fuel pump as when i took it off the trailer last night the pump was sounding very noisy.
The weekend was fantastic and a very good laugh. Thanks to Kev for the ideas and moral support! And a big well done to you and Gary for the class win.
We have two stages of in car (something else playing up) ill post them up when they get to me.
Oh, cant remember which stages but i hit a few cones and a barrel so the front bumper is a bit damaged and ive a scuff on the passenger side.
Ill post back up when ive done some fault finding.
