Hi,
Started to fit the front brake pipes at the weekend.
Picked the engine up from Bowyer's last monday - well impressed with that!!!
Ill get some pictures up tomorrow.
Going with the standard servo and master cylinder now and sacking the floor mounted pedals.

cheers
rob

R.I.P PUGLET (2002 - 2010) :(
Looking good, whats the engine spec?
Also who modified your strut bodys for the wide track? Proflex?
Engine is all steel bottom end, throttle bodies, cam'd, head work and alot more
I basically had to get some standard strut bodies and measue all the angles and distances and then take them to Proflex uk who then got Proflex Belguim to make them up. A right ball ache!!!!
cheers for the interest
Rob
Sounds a ball ache!
What cams are you running? 295/300 or bigger? Standard crank?
They are Enem cams, not sure what they are as he wants to keep the top end a bit hush hush until next year as he has tried a few new things.
Really cant wait to get it in and running!!!!
rob
Hi Rob you have far to much money or maybe not now lol.
I'm looking at a new motor for mine will have to get more info off you when you have a min.
Hi Kev,
Give us a ring mate - It'll be good to talk rallying!
Rob
Great project, keep up the good work fella!
Ok, progress so far,
Here is the engine, currently sat in the garage.
Made a start on making the brake lines up. As the roll cage is to close to the master cylinder and i cant get a banjo in - i had to do some calafudging
![]()
The big thick braided hose is an attempt to make a vacume for the servo but the wiper linkage catches it - so back to the drawing board with that.
Here is my apprentice sitting on the car!! He's rubbish at getting the ice creams as the van chimes scare the cr@p out of him

Engine looks good![]()
What you hoping to rev it too? Whos going to map it for you?
Did you buy the floor mounted pedals? If so do you fancy selling them?
Hi mate,
Engine has been mapped already by Martin, it'll rev to 8900 but limiter has been set at 8750.
Yeah, i bought Willwood brake and clutch pedals (no throttle) decieded not to go with them as i want to keep a manual clutch pedal.
I take it your box will be hydraulic release? Ive got a few pictures of your box when it was in Chris White's corsa - i nearly bought it!!
Yeah hoping to sell the pedals on - if you're interested.
rob
What managment has martin used, should be one sweet engine. What power/torque has it made?
Been continplating giving martin a ring to see if he wants to finish the engine and map it, just a bit unsure due to the amount of time he takes lmao
Yeah the box is hydraulic release so may be intrested in the pedals. Is it possible for you to weigh them for me?
Are the photo's on your PC, if so can you email them to me?Looking at how to mount onto the bulkhead.
Thanks
Yeah, they are on the pc. Whats your email mate?
Its running on latest MBE. The power fig. are very very good.
Its taken Martin over a year to build it which it typical ive heard.
There are also John Reed and Bill Faulkner who could also help with your engine.
They pedals weigh in at about 1kg each - but this was done on a set of dodgy scales.
Wilwood have them on ther website if you want a look. Might be some more accuarte figuers to.
They are brand new with boxes.
dont SBD build engines?
rob
Thanks my email is - stephen1_edwards1@hotmail.co.uk
Yeah SBD build engines and they definatley know there stuff on the 1600, there prices for parts are a bit on the high side though. The engines actually built just needs dry sump and a few other bits.
They try and avoid it these days. Indeed they will just generally send you in someone elses direction.
I can highlighy recommend Jason of Hellier Performance though (as recommended to me by the two Steves at Track and Road).
Excellent guy, great knowledge, efficent turn around and the best customer service (he talks to you and even meets the deadlines he gives you!) lmao

If you call him tell him Giles with the Cavalier gave you his number.
Engine looks very neat mate.
Looking great!![]()
fecking awesome car Robert. If I get some spare time one weekend/night I might pop over for another nosey and a brew![]()
