Why the change? How much will the corsa be?

Hi Mates,
Here a picture after a 90 degrees right turn (just before we stood still in superspecial).
I also like to know your opinions about why both sides of driveshafts had broken instantly after a little fly off over a bump. I am suspicious about driveshafts length doesn't match with suspension travel or my limited slip differential is a bit tight.
Any comments will be appreciated.

Looking fantastic!
Do you know how much plunge in the shaft you have? You need to measure it on full extenstion of the suspension as well as when there is weight on the car. This could be wrong and would cause the shaft to break. If there is too much then a spacer between the cv and hub will do - if there is too less then you'll have to shorten the shaft (somehow)
hope this helps mate

thank you Rob,
I'll check them on friday night then I'll post the result here. I like to point that my shafts have modified production type (of opel vectra) CV joints. I will take the pictures all modification and repair process to send here.
best wishes,
Azmi

vill the length of the driveshafts from a Astra F Gsi fit a kitcar
have foto cant opload it
my driveshafts a made like thes
out. CV joints. spidan 20183
in. joints. spidan 21561
output flanges
driveshafts
I dont think they will. I know Astra GTE/GSI shafts fit a standard track corsa with the pilbeam/hhms bottom arms but if its wide tracked i dont think they'll fit.
If you send the pic again ill upload it Donlop

Hello Marcel,
Do you use them without any modifications? if so, what kind of surface you use them? gravel or tarmac or both?
Hello Donlop, can you Email the pictures to me? my Email address is a.d@elk.itu.edu.tr

the driveshafts a ca + 50mm as the pilbeam/hhms wide tracked
Hello,
If someone knows a good F20 dogbox let me know. A friend of mine is searching for it.
Marcel
Guys im considering to go wide track the same as you later on this year but wanted to understand what modifications and parts etc i would need to do it?
I guess the body kit is from harry hockleys and is fia approved? do the drive shafts, suspension, bottom arms etc all have to be replaced?
also how is the back arches fitted to the shell and how much cutting of the original arch is there?
sorry for all the questions but just want to make sure that if i do it i have the funds for the whole lot!
Hello Mates,
I have removed the driveshafts with the believe of the CV joints are broken. But I have hugely suprised when I saw both shafts are sheared from solid steel shaft section.
Since the shafts are custom madeand there is no time to machining new ones, I think I will try astra Fs shafts. Thanks again Marcel.
cheers,
Azmi

Hello Lee,
I think it is clear that the long shaft is over harden and short one seems a little more soft. As I mentioned before, I have bought the car few months ago and unfortunately not much information about its history. I have to admit that, I have never suspected about solid steel bars to shear instead of CV joints, I have checked them superficially (for any bending, slackness etc.) then I put back them to they places. My problem is there is the last rally of the winter season this weekend. I hope the standard shafts will be ok. otherwise I will have much time to think what has gone wrong.
waiting the comments,
regards,
Azmi

yeah i think you're right from the photos, i'm with you though, it seems odd, must really be down to material defect or simply wrong choice of steel for the shafts, as even a plunge problem wont cause shearing like that!
hope you get it sorted anyway![]()
