| The stealth Saab! Well, due to massive popular demand (Astra Dan) I was encouraged to do a little project's thread on the ole bus.
Well she's a 1996 9000 CSE 2.3 FPT , 91k on the clock, full black leather, full leccy pack, climate control plus quite alot of other things. Plus she only cost me £600
So far it's had abuse hurled at it in the form of some fanny at PVS (who did actually seem to be totally serious). It was quite ironic that he called it a "sack of ****" especially when he was next to a Corsa
All I've done so far is give it an uber clean and fit a cover to the gearbox. Here's some random pictures
Engine before
Almost like new
Nowt but the best
The only pic I have of the outside, and it's not even mine
Plans so far are........
Better brakes
Better suspension
Better wheels
Then engine stuff! At the moment I'm only after 340bhp (quite average compared to most)

Think of all that additional traction you'll have. |

| Re: The stealth Saab! Nice to meet you Lugy!
Yeah, first thing I did was to source a second hand DI unit, I stick it in the boot when on long journeys. Seems a bit hit and miss though. I see no reason mine isn't oriignal and it's a nats under 100k now. I paid £50 for my spare one from a reputable Saab dealer/ breaker called the Paradise Club in Romsey. The bloke's a legend, mainly 'cos he's called Dan. He rips mine a bit, calls it a 'poxy Vauxhall'.
Re. the power, the first thing that will fail is the gearbox as we talked about. See if you can get a F25/F28 in there...
Might put a thread up about mine, just fitted a genuine Turbo back box to it. |
