The only benefit I can see from going in the top is not having to take the tie bars off ect. Seeing as you had yours off already...

I dont see why people seem to want to prove themselves by putting it in through the top. Seems pointless to me when its only a few bolts to fit it from the bottom.

No proving, you just unbolt the mounts and lift it out. Either way it the fitters choise. Back to Gav.

Re: Gavs Corsa turbo track car

a built up LET with turbo and F28 will NOT go in easily through the top and in a nova simply wont fit without bending stuff, trust me been there tried it.

personally i dont care anymore i now own a crane so if i wanted i could lift the shell over the lump or lift the lump out of the shell ahh freedom lmao

Re: Gavs Corsa turbo track car

the thing is going in from the bottom you can just pull the engine up, lowering it in from the top the alternator is close to the os chassis and the f28 sticks proud past the ns chassis rail so it has to go in at an angle, definately easier to pull it up straight rather than pee about and risk scratching your new paint!

Re: Gavs Corsa turbo track car

in the bottom is the best way i think we had gavs in, in about 10 mins easy to line up and then its just lift it to the mounts easy, through the top requires alot of angle on the engine and without an adjustable crane mount you need alot of effort, and on a fershly painted shell alot of chance for scratches. in the bottom ftwlmao

Few more pictures will carry on in the morning before the beers come out lmao, Intercooler mount made up and 3 inch top hat fitted. Got all the bends today to make intercooler pipes up tomorrow. Poly windows should be here Tuesday. All the tie bars, brakes and bottom arms were cleaned today and will be fitted tomorrow after paint.

Looks good gav. Did it drop onto the mounts ok or was it a slag to get them lined up?

Was just checking as my nova used to be a right slag to get it lined up on the solid mounts.

Intercooler doesn't look big enough to me and although solid the pipework looks a little thin too.
