Well got my car back today after being away from me for a week
So here are the updates:
Decided to go for the Garrett GT3071r after buying a brand new T34 Hybrid a few weeks prior.
Spec:
Compressor : 0.50 A/R 71mm - 4" anti surge inlet
Turbine: 0.63 A/R 60mm
3" V-band exit
Also got a AEM Gauge Wideband UEGO Controller
And a Spal 300mm High performance 12v Fan thats 45mm deep
So off I trundled to Nortech last Saturday to get this all fitted and have a special custom mannifold made up to fit my cav turbo and the GT3071r and deal with the power steering pump which as always...is in the way
Also had downpipe fabricated.....
So arrived at Nortech to be met by mofo Wazpaz who kindly took me to go get my hired car for the week that I booked in advance...saying that it was suppose to be a astra but when I got to Enterprise car rental near Nortech the dork said 'How you fancy aving the new arrival....after realising it was the barge outisde the door i said **** yeah![]()
Vauxhall CDTI 160bhp 6 geared Insignia
So thanks again Wazpaz for waiting on me ni on an hour up Nortech lmaobut I did have problems with the dam cav running halfway up the journey to Barnsley
boost wasnt right at all
Ok a week later and I was up Nortech this morning (early)![]()
and once again greeted by Wazpaz..I tell a lie! I was there earlylmao and cav was still in progress mode so took a few pics of the dirty taxi....
and it's out the cave
screamer pipe already doing my ****en head in...sounds like a wet fart
note the crazy fueling ratio
Now driving home today it took me not the usual 3.5 hours but over 6cause the car was eating gas like a ho on Don Kings ball sack full of Benjimen Franklins
![]()
When I drove up there last saturday it cost a tidy £40 to travel what 252 miles...today £60 to get back home lmaothe Insignia cost me £30 to drive back home last saturday and that was at pace
Anyways being **** worried about bore wash and the money I have spent to forge this engine up etc I drove home so slow and constantly looking at the wideband seeing 10's in 6th gear 2500 revs steady....and when ecu light would cme on the fuel ratio was seeing 12's which is better than 10's!![]()
Finally got home and though well I had the problem as such as I drove up last week so wtf is it...do a flash test dummyyyyyyyyyyyy...yeah but kinda hard when the ecu light wont stay on all the time!
Well as it happens it stayed on a few miles from home and when I got hme i found this was the culprit:
38 Oxygen sensor Voltage low (1990 model year on)
Now is it a case of I just need a new Bosch c20let Oxygen sensor? As the car jerked like hell driving up when ging on boost...and thus does the same now if u try and boost in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear...once ur rolling it boosts but obviously I didnt wanna boost coming home for fear of mega bore wash and the end to my engine.
Input if you please on this.....
Thanks again to Wazpaz and also Jay for his great work![]()

So you picked the car up and it runs ****e?
For the love of God, please read the rules
very nice motor mate![]()
It ran **** as i pulled up hence standard oxygen sensor seems ****ednot sure how the wideband oxygen sensor flows with the standard one but atleast the ecu when kicks in runs the fuel ratio to 12's rather than 10's when ecu is off
a video to explain abit betterexcuse puppy powers lmao speed cameras
ok gimme a few mins video is uploaded slow
ty astra v6needs a respray though...im thinking rattle cans from Halfarts in matt black

standered lambda goosed by the look of things, if its only happening on normal driving revs, when you go to wot it ignores the lambda but as much as you'd like to prob no possible to drive full throttle everywhere!! lol
i wouldnt run the wideband as the ecu's lambda, get another standered one, and run both, one for the ecu one to tell you how things are going,
im running both wideband and standard matey....just standard one has burnt out now i hope its that anyways lol
I tell u what also pissed me off on way home...an evo 4 was egging me for atleast 50 miles on m42 iirc..to have a go lmao i kept pointing at the wideband gauge and a thumbs down![]()

i had the same problem just after i fitted my wideband (same one aswell) when you start the car up from cold it should read 14ish, then after a few minutes as the lambda is warmed up the reading will drop down to the 10s for normal driving,
thats what mine was doing when my lambda died, i got a new sensor and it fixed the problem,
nice manifold and turbo, when ya having it rolling roaded?
cheers kread its good to have reassurance after spending too much again meh....well i was planning on having it rr'd at AET up the road from Nortech on picking it up but this problem arouse. So gona get autovaux to send me a bosch lambada asap and then think where to go if anywhere closer to home. Thing is been advised to get a electronic boost controller turbo smart supposedly good....(and rightly so to get a ebc) mbc wont control boost that well on this set-up granted. Turbo smart was one but im liking greddy prospec B II...just need £200 odd quid lol. I wacked the boost down as far as poss on mbc and still sees 15psi...whats the max to run psi wise on this set-up matey?
The tial 44mm wastegate is 12lb sprung and rated 30psi supposedly.

for your info, as bosch sensors arent cheap, i got a bog standered universal lambda that you crimp onto the standered loom wires, and it sorted mine out a treat, was only 25 off ebay, seeing as lambda only controls the fuelling when its open loop, ie part throttle and normal driving, i wasnt to fussed about the £60-70 for the bosche one, when you go WOT it reverts to a another map on motronic as far as im aware,
as far as your setup goes, youve prob seen mine, which although more of a budget version of your setup is very similar, deffo get an EBC, i'm running a dawes device and the boost control isnt wonderful, seems laggy and doesnt always hold the boost well, i'm gonna invest in an Apexi i think, but im sure the others are just as good,
the boost will only go as low as the spring in the waste gate lets it, so its prob a 1bar spring, i would leave it there and keep the driving sensible keeping an eye on the wideband for a bit, but i would imagine with the right fuelling and boost at say 20psi you'll be knocking on some pretty good bhp figures,
i'm just investing in a forged block, steel rods low comp piston oil spray etc,
be interesting to see what sort of figures you get?
karl
aye...thought non bosch lambada's play nuggets with the c20let? good to know ur's don't...pm ebay link if u wannasil vous plait.
Yes im very interested to see what it makes (without the aftermarket management tag) gagging to rabbit thump my foot i tell thee...all in good time initI never ended up having my forged bottom oil squirted but might eventually invest in aquamist.....sooner than later the saying goes.

exhaust wacking prop now with new downpipesooo annoying
Is the fuel ratio gauge seeing the right figs on pelting it?running 10psi for now
screamer pipe is so so loud video doesnt really giv it justice if u can call waking up the dead justice ugg.

So when you gonna melt it ?
C20XE , machined down pistons , MS-I v3.0 , HX35W 1.2bar and broken F20
after june i hope
what kinda **** is that Mr Estonia lmao

You use AEM WB and dont want to buy bosch NB sensor for ECU , two mistakes at once![]()
C20XE , machined down pistons , MS-I v3.0 , HX35W 1.2bar and broken F20
Maybe the wideband was giving a 'false reading' if it wasn't commisioned/setup properly at the start?
Have you read the instructions laddo?
you welsh man HEROSome dam sexual pipework there! looks stunning
and did warn ya bout a screamer pipe lmao
aem widebands dont require setting up likem innovate ones seem to, they are pretty much plug and play, i would wind the fuel pressure up just a tad, would be better off seeing high 11's at wot rather than the low 12's it seems to be showing,
does sound nuts though, makes me miss mine, soon be out of my garage and rebuilt
night time vid uploading...
waza it seems to have sorted itself out runs great no jerks in all gears on boosting, no ecu lighttemp is spot on and so is the gas lmao phew!
GeorgeST...whats pissed on ur fire? jshhh
rc....i dread giving it boost lmao i get weary cause i know bbbbrrrrrRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAssccreeEAMM!!!...comes up thenlmao
So up fuel to say 2.9 bar from 2.7?
