Took all of the old interior down to the tip!
Random little ****er seatbelt bolt was really ****ing tight! Took about six repetitions of WD40, screw it back in, screw it back out, WD40 to get out. ****ing tight little ****!
Handbrake lever pulled out, cleaned and greased. Might as well do all these little poopy jobs while the weather's good!
Got the last little bits of carpet out. Got the seats out and put the little tabs in the pre-tensioners (cheers Tom! I'd forgotten they were there ). Got most of the rear seatbelts out, but got pissed off with a couple of bolts. A job for another day!

There's no big lumps or anything floating about in it! |

| Re: Project Deathtrap: Jack's 1.2 Corsa Mind you last time i saw it half of the oil was blown over the engine bay which probably means that it was regularly topped up, so the oil would be fairly new. |

| Re: Project Deathtrap: Jack's 1.2 Corsa nice and black in there, shame about the bores is it just the one? if you know the engine from before how badly did it smoke if at all? that one valve looks a bit really fooked, pain in the ass to get out like that as the valve spring compressor dont sit straight on there. id say you will need valve guides too as they will be cracked. i have rebuilt one before tho without renewing them as it was just a cheap runabout and it was fine

| Re: Project Deathtrap: Jack's 1.2 Corsa Just the one bore, but it looks far worse on photos than it actually is.
It didn't smoke at all, to my knowledge. It had a bit of abuse, but you'd be hard pushed to buy a second-hand engine that hadn't!
Yeah, we'll do the valves and guides, although I'm still tempted to try and find a C16XE head with bigger valves... |

| Re: Project Deathtrap: Jack's 1.2 Corsa can I also have a huge WTF at the state of the chambers, how the hell has a fuel injected engine run so ****ing badly to coke everything up to that extent! TBH I wouldnt be trusting the guides, seats or lifters now so Id be looking for a good complete head.
Given that youre still unsure about the ecu etc that too, so at this point in the project Id personally still bin that POS and get an xe |

A good, complete head would be the easiest solution. ECU isn't a problem either any more, as we have the original sensor ring and key from the car. |

Or I can get all 8 for £20 non-genuine. |
