Lada with a difference....

i was told it was probably a good idea to post my car on here, so here goes

here is my lada 2105 road rally car

using the 1500 Lada engine it never had enough power for me, so i decided to do a bit of a conversion over christmas

linked to a tran x box

the car has now been transformed!

if you want to see how i did it have a look at this:

That's fantastic!

Just read the entire thread, you are completely crazy! Please say you're going to get better brakes and fix the understeer?

Re: Lada with a difference....

LOL! brakes are Fiat croma turbo disks and volvo 4 pot calipers

understear was because the rear was too soft and it had toe out tracking!

Re: Lada with a difference....

That is cool as fook. Be cool to take it over to Romania & blow away the budget street racers in there std 1500's. LOL

Be awesome to waste a poncey Brit in a 3 series BM off the lights aswell. Infact the possibilities are endless!

Re: Lada with a difference....

Hehe And there is a little bonus point about XE ..

A lot of local rallying championship rules require to use at least engine from same manufacturer (sometimes restricted to engines fitted to particular car), but anyway, my point - XE was fitted in a small homoligation batch of Lada 21106 So basicly, XE is Lada engine

Greetings from Spain
Are you saying you are using the lada'a original gearbox with X20xe, and did you have to get a bell housing made to fit the x20xe with the lad's gear box.

Re: Lada with a difference....

Jack, the axel is just cut on the 2 tubes if you like...

in teh pic, see the part where the diff lives, as that comes down into one diameter, to the end of the axel, that part is cut and lada tubes are welded onto...

simple!

thing is, i now find you can get a lsd unit from the Ukraine for £250 + postage!
