1979 Chevette

Just realised that i had not started a thread on my Chevette.

It started its life as a standard 1979 1.3.
And in 1982/3 was transformed into what you see here

It was given a "freshen up" in 1991 and not used that much.
In 1992 it was put away into a garage and stayed there until i found it last august.
This is how it was when i brought it

Not spent that much time on the car since i'v had it but anm noe hoping to get it on the road for some show's this year.
So far i had a broken carb to fix

a blocked petrol tank. (Rust sat at the bottom of the tank and blocked the feed pipe.
Also had a knackered starter motor.
Got that refurbed today (free plug to Auto Electrics in Redditch, top bloke and pretty clued up on old stuff) and finally got the car running
1st time run in 16 years

then after a small tinkering with the carbs

Thats as far as its come since i brought it.
Still got clutch, brakesa, seats, mirrors, harnesses and a couple of little bits to sort, then it'll be MOT time.
If all goes well it might make a show or to this year.
