Quad with a SuperBike Engine........

I had the camera up at my workshop today to took a few photos of the bits i have in for work.

Well i thought people on here may be interested in seeing how we get on with this conversion.
A very good friend of mine asked weather i would be able to do a bike engine conversion on his 04 GasGas450 as he wanted more power an saw some on the work i have done on cars and some of the fab work i have done in the past aswell as having a RAM170 quad with a CCM644 supermoto bike engine.
After a long chat we have started the conversion.

The bike engine we have is a 04 triumph daytona 650cc which gives out around 112bhp and with a quad weight nothing it should give a very high power to weight ratio.

will keep this post updated on how we go.

So here are some photos
Just waiting of some spacers being made (as i havent got a lathe yet myself) then i can get all the mounts 100%, the engine is temp in place where its needs to be.
should not be to long before its finished.

Re: Quad with a SuperBike Engine........

I'm not a fan of quads, much prefer the bikes. That said it looks a weapon, and i've always wanted a z-cars mini with an R1 engine!.

Power to weigh rules!

Re: Quad with a SuperBike Engine........

Quad will weight around 150kg (give or take they are 118kg with standard engine)
Power output of 112bhp

Power the weight ratio off - 758.65bhp per ton

Re: Quad with a SuperBike Engine........

engine looks too far forward, which would make it a nightmare on the whoops if its ever gonna go near a motocross track.

raced quads for years and won a few championships when i was younger. sadly nowadays the parents arent up for paying for it so not done anything for a few years. will get another one sometime soon i hope.

keep us updated on how it goes, what would be your guestimate of cost for a donor bike, say 600 - 750cc sports bikes???? wouldnt mind an R6 banshee
