| My mk3 Astra GSI turbo...progress hi all
the story so far.....
in may 2006 i got banned from driving for 2 years, so it was time to sell my 2005 ibiza cupra and start building a few projects.a few cars and motorbikes later i snapped up this car.maybe some of you know it already but it has changed a fair bit (power wise) since i got it.currently running just over 300-ish bhp ...unsure of the torque output but im hoping to be quite high, just fitted a new box with new diff last week aswell.
i currently have tha car stripped for respray but here are some pics from last week.
i know its not to everyones taste but what the heck.
pics arent great quality, ill get some on my camera some day this week
opinions please..and any history on the car if anyone has any?cheers

| dont worry mate i love the wheels, theyre going nowhere.they look ok for 18's, i thought it would sit differently but it looks and drives perfect with them on.im happy enough with it the way it is, i do have a spare bonnet minus the centre vent, i think il paint both and choose later, for as cheesey as bonnet vents can be,its growing on me. |

omex600 ecu and home made loom, bought an omex 600 from ebay for £65 with a burned out loom, repaired and set up.

| VERY interesting thread. Plug cover is a later type LET one though, XEV is straight, not 'L' shaped.

| erm i bought the car about 4 months ago, swapped for a 106gti which only owed me £400 as i bought it as a non runner. the astra was a non runner when i bought it aswell, traced the fault to the ecu and some dodgey wiring, as im banned i was in no rush to get on the road so the engine work started, along came the omex ecu etc etc, but body wise and wheels etc were already on, but ive had the wheels powder coated again ....it was a standard redtop turbo when i bought it, ph2 with FMIC but nothin too fancy.
its now owe me about 2-3k pmsl
GSITURBOASTRA im from buckie bud, how come? |
